    The safest of all.................Passbook

Never ako nagkacredit card.

80% of my expenses are also via credit card. Tapos from my payroll account nililipat ko lahat sa checking account every payday. Manakawan man yung 'disposable cash account' maliit lang.

And oh, may rebates and rewards pa sa credit card transactions. Downside lang ng CC para saken is yung annual fees, which I can always waive easily.

    Hi lucky. Welcome to tsikot.
    1st post......wacky agad.

Correct si shadow. Ok din yang may cc, lalo na in times of emergency & wala kang cash. Useful din to, during out of town trips. Vontrol nga lang sa paggamit.

meron pa din siya magnetic strip bro.

so i guess the smart chip (so that's what it's called hehe) is a precautionary measure only for the card's/account's debit service feature only

Para maiwasan ang ganyan prob. I usually just transfer money from... one account to another... yung isa for atm trnsaction lang talaga 40k lang laman... yung isa passbook.. pag na withdraw ko na.. online transfer lang ako ng funds..

Hindi pa ako nakalabas ng pilipinas. Year 2002 pagkagraduate ng college apply ako us visa.

Never ako nagkasmartphone / tab.

You will eventually need a credit card. Proof of financial capacity din yan when you apply for utilities and visas. There's also a maximum amount of cash that you can bring when you travel.

BTT: I am running out of cash, masyado ako na paranoid sa ATM skimming. Nangyari kasi sa former colleague ko. BPI din.

Just what I have thought. Napakahirap mag abroad ng walang credit card chochuck.

You'll realized that pag nag a-abroad ka na.

Actually with the current retail setup, unless the vendor will give you discount if you pay cash, lugi ka if you don't use a credit card. Kasi lahat ng establishments na tumatanggap ng credit card nakapatong na sa product price nila yung card surcharge (patong ng credit card to make money). Makakabawi ka lang sa surcharge through points on your credit card (converted points is the same as discount).

    Iyan naman ang problema, kapag may issue ang POS ng isang tindahan, at cash lang... Wala ka halos dalang cash,- e nasa counter ka na.... Hindi lang minsang nangyari ito sa akin... :grin;
