The sun heat is differen than what we have in Pinas. Last year, some of the glass facade building had cracked because of the heat wave.

Temperature in Shanghai will start to go down by Novemember.

Beijing, there is more to see there. I went there last December, I wrote an article about it that came out just recently, you might wanna read it here http://www.hackwriters.com/Balita.htm

although I din't include the Forbidden city there ,because I'm planning to write a separate article about it.

i'm not really into historical tours. pero yun plano ko trip next month sa shanghai gusto ko samahan ng beijing/great wall. mas trip ko talaga city stroll and shopping

Yeah. There's a one day Beijing tour that includes, the Ming Tomb, Jade Factory and Great wall (Badaling Section). Or Great wall, summer palace and jade factory. It's a guided tour with an english speaking tour guide, includes lunch pa. They'd pick you up really early. And they'd take pictures that you can download.

Yeah but don't wait till December. They have really really cold and super dry winters. So dry you wont feel your nose, I kinda felt like my nose could be slapped off when I went there. I waited for my December term break kasi.

    • Yu Yuan Garden
    • Xintiandi
    • Take a ride on the world's only commercialized "Maglev Train" transportation running at top speed of 400 Km/hr
The nearest hotel to the New Shanghai intl Expo Center is "Rennaissace Shanghai Pudong Hotel'.

If you have time, you can also visit Beijing by riding on their bullet train, non-stop from Shanghai to Beijing (10 hrs.). Train depart from Shanghai at 7PM.

If your coming here by June, expect that outside temperature is from 37 deg C ~ 40 deg. Celsius..... Super initttttt.......
Thanks for the info Nautica. We will try to cover all the places you mentioned, except beijing...i think...medyo limited ang schedule.

Thank you for all your inputs. Yung Renaissance pudong hotel daw ang nearest sa expo according to nautica. Medyo pricey (RMB1,200 for double room), 3 or 4 star hotel will do, any suggestions? thanks

beijing is better if you want sightseeing, or if you want to buy traditional stuff.

shanghai is for shopping, but what the heck, all brands are in makati anyway.

    tama si torque....

beijing eh medyo historical and cultural ang dating.
shanghai is medyo modern, shopping, entertainment, etc.

I also went to Beijing last Dec. 2005.
Temperature in Great Wall (Badaling route) is -10 degree Celsius and the pathway is slippery due to the snow.

Because of climate changes temperature is becoming unpredictable, take for example last year, the winter arrive late.

Since the expo venue is accesible by subway (Line2), why don't you go to the city (Radisson Hotel) just near the Peoples Square subway station. From here you can explore Shanghai. Subway train is not a problem, every 5 minutes trains arrive.

I have some foreigner friend who once stay in Renaissance Pudong and they've complained of lack of nigthlife in that area.

Here are the photos taken from the Bund (Pearl Tower , Huangpu River & Old buildings)

The best timing punta sa china is during our summer time. Kasi spring pa lang sila dun. temp is around 15-25C. pinaka mainit around july. then okay ulit pag mga september till November. Tapos pasok na sila sa winter till Feb.

both are good cities, savor the place and the food. my advice is grab the oppurunity to eat the food the city is famous for, or even the exotic ones.
