It has been proven that talking on the celfone is just as bad as being drunk behind the wheel of the car. The driver is distracted by the conversation he/she is having to concentrate on the road. Even hands-free devices don't help much in this case but at least it frees up both hands to properly hold the steering wheel.

Well, it depends on the person doing it. Some drives more wary while drunk while others do it like hell. It's like driving while eating, drinking or "anything" same with one using his / her cellphone, hands free of not - it's up to them which one to focus.

nung maliit ako, naging batas ang bawal ang tint but now even harap fully tint na uso.... ayusin muna nila batas nila bago sila magdagdag. puro sila umpisa kasi

It's a good law, pero asa pa sa implementation.

Hindi na nga effectively magawa ang basic enforcement against no taillights, no plate# lights, no headlights, no turn signals, no brake lights, etc., ito pa kaya? Pati na rin enforcement against drunk driving. . .

I heard MMDA General Manager Nacianceno ( hope I got it right ) that the seat belt law is not already among the priority of his boys. Go figure.

We all want to think we are better than the typical drunk or cellphone user when trying to multitask with a car. Unfortunately the only time we prove ourselves wrong is when we get into an accident, hopefully without killing someone else in the process.

    Correction lang sa article ...

Mobile phone use while driving in the UK isn't banned. What's banned is driving and holding the phone while using it. The driver can still use it on hands-free mode. If you don't have hands-free and have to use the phone, you have to pull over (where allowed to) and turn off the engine.

But if you get into an accident, hands-free or not, the use of a phone during or just before the accident will be a point against you in court.

When caught, the penalties in license points and fee will be stiff, and the increase in insurance premium will be large ... but even in a country like the UK there are still a lot of idiots risking life and limb holding phones up their ears while driving.
