hindi basketball court tawag dun, we call it "plaza" may loudspeakers pa...when theyll call your name, then sasahihin yung amount na binigay mo, yung mga US navy na balikbayan(prevalent sa cavite and batangas), $US, usually last persons na tinatawag is the barangay captain and the mayor...they give the biggest amount...pero hindi naman lahat ng batangaueno sinusunod yung ganung custom, usually sa barangay level only...

I've actually attended a good number of them. And witnessed this spectacle....

And so, when it was my turn to be one of the principal sponsors of the wedding of the daughter of a friend,- we only attended the church ceremony; gave the couple our monetary gift; wished them well, and took off, excusing ourselves because of a family affair....

if you do this tradition here in manila, it will be considered distastefull or classless, sa south kasi, most people in that batangay are related to each other, its accepted practice...

    Oo nga bro....

In one of the weddings we attended in the south as secondary sponsor,- malayo pa lang dinig mo na ang music sa loudspeaker,- at ang tugtog, "Girls just want to have fun.......

    But yes,- it was fun!

Thinking about it now,- I am happy with the consumption rate of our diesel ride,- 10.8Km per liter over 281km last Tuesday.... [Even if the average speed was only 56KPH because of traffic in MM in the afternoon....]
