Forbes' Billionaires List: Amazon CEO Bezos Is Biggest Gainer, Cracks Top 3

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is the biggest dollar gainer on Forbes’ 2017 World’s Billionaires List, in a year when 56 percent of billionaires saw their fortunes increase.

Forbes on Monday released its 31st Annual World’s Billionaires List, with 2,043 billionaires in the rankings, with an average net worth of $3.75 billion.

Bill Gates remains in the top spot for the fourth year in a row and has been the richest person in the world for 18 out of the past 23 years. Gates has a fortune of $86 billion, up from $75 billion last year.

Warren Buffett, worth $75.6 billion, up from $60.8 billion in 2016, reclaimed the No. 2 slot, after a two-year hiatus.

Bezos' net worth jumped by $27.6 billion in the past year -- more than the total net worth of all but the 24 richest billionaires, Forbes.com reported.

Amazon stock climbed 67% in the past year in part because of the success of its cloud-computing unit, Amazon Web Services.

With a net worth of $72.8 billion, Bezos is now the third richest billionaire in the world, behind Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett.

Last year, Bezos cracked the ranks of the top 10 richest billionaires in the world for the first time, ranking fifth on Forbes 2016 World’s Billionaires List.

Spanish clothing retailer Amancio Ortega (best known for the Zara fashion chain) drops to No. 4, despite his net worth increasing to $71.3 billion.

Rounding out the top five is Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, worth $56 billion.

As for Bezos' empire itself, Amazon is literally steamrolling its competitors.

With a current market cap of $390 billion, the Seattle-based retail giant is now worth more than the top eight traditional brick-and-mortar retailers combined, as Credit Suisse analysts led by Eugene Klerk mentioned in a recent note, Yahoo Finance reported.

For the record, that roster includes Best Buy (BBY), Macy’s (M), Target (TGT), JCPenney (JCP), Nordstrom (JWN), Walmart (WMT), Kohl’s (KSS) and Sears (SHLD).

“That’s an impressive, even astonishing feat, no doubt, given Amazon was founded in chief executive Jeff Bezos’ garage in 1994," Yahoo Finance reported.

"But it’s not exactly shocking, given the rapid transition over the last 20 years away from shopping in physical retail stores in lieu of online shopping, where retailers like Amazon can offer lower pricing on products and services because they don’t have to offset the costs of also paying for physical stores," Yahoo Finance reported.

LBC, Atlas or FOREX. I'm not sure kung aircon pero hindi natutunaw chocolates so I guess it is? I've been receiving boxes regularly for over 10 years and never had any issues.

I love Amazon too. They have the best customer service. Once I complained na I didn't receive 3 items so they reimbursed me with no questions asked. Turns out my Aunt misplaced 2 of it lang so I reported na I received 2 of the 3 items so they charged it again. Then a few days after my Aunt found the 3rd item and when I reported it, Amazon said they won't charge it anymore. Kumbaga libre na since I was honest enough to report I found the items. It was a lip balm worth $7.

Pag andoon ako I still choose to see items in person. Pag wala talaga ako Nakita saka na ako mag order online. You cant beloved how many times I go to best buy, home depot and Lowe's just to check items.

Tumatakas ako pumupunta sa mga yan, I can stay for half a day just looking yun mga items one by one. Pulit ulit then just scan it sa apps para hinde ko nakalimutan pag bibilhin ko na.

Me ganun pa ba na reverse bro? Nuknukan ng gulang mga yun. Eh ako Nga nag pay ako 50 % ng bill ahead ng due, maisip ko sayang interest so bayad ulet ako ng full kinabukasan Lang ng due ko. Pag labas ng bill ko nag ka interest. Tinawagan ko for reversal di daw puede late na daw Yung payment ko dapat before or on the due date para di mag interest. Ayun pinasara Ko na.

Dapat consistent ka na full payment. If you miss a payment once they give special consideration. BPI and HSBC does that.

Tama ginawa mo. Ang dami daming credit cards na pwede kung hinde nila reverse charge then bring your business somewhere else.

Gago yan mga banks pag may Pera ka lahat ng free ibibigay sayo, lahat ng consideration, pag wala ka Naman Pera lalo ka nila iipitin.

Kaya puro business lang turing ko Sa mga yan kahit mga managers ng branch I do t go out of my way to please them. Although matagal na Kasi kami customers ng ilang banks here Kaya I know the managers up to the VP personally. I practically grew up with them. My parents knows then personally. But ako wala ako pakialam sa kanila. Gamitan lang yan.

They have the facilities that I need so might as well used it. Pero I don't feel any gratitude na pinagbigyan ako or something. Or they go out of their way to accommodate my request.

Ang sakin kc 1day Lang Hindi ako mapag bigyan malaking pera na ata Yung 1.5k sa kanila. Sa dinami dami Hindi nagbayad sa kanila ilang digits at sa haba ng taon.

Yesterday went to a car accessories planning to replace my old tint mga 4:00pm na ok na sa akin Yung quote sabi nun tinter Tom nalang sa am para maliwanag. Went back *10am Wala pa daw Yung gagawa pati amo after lunch pa daw. Anak ng.... walang kwentang shop won't be surprised kung mag sara sila mga ilang mos Lang.
