    3. What are the issues (its in the post) but i send anyway...
    4. Can i swap with 2004 CRV (no swapping in the post)
    5. Can i swap with 2017 Mirage (no swapping in the post). And pls naman common sense the values are much different.
    6. Where is the location (clearly stated in the post)

after test drive, i gave him 1k (ako na nagsabi non-refundable and not included sa purchase price) to reserve it for 3 more days.

Why did you give the seller 1k, parang mainsulto ako pag sakin ginawa yan. Para kang nag tip for the test drive. Saka di ako papayag mag hold ng sale for P1k kasi if a good deal comes along I'm not holding it for anyone. Kuya ko kasi if likes the car, after test drive bayad na ng cash e kung may buyer ako madatnan na ganun tapos nag hold ako for P1k

i have seen this 1K several times among acquaintances.
the understanding is, buyer will reserve the car for three days. he will not sell the car to anyone in those 3 days. if reservist does not come back, the 1K is forfeit and buyer may sell the car to whoever comes along.
seller just tells the others, "it's reserved already for 3 days. call me afterward to see if it has since been sold, or if it is still for sale."

Yes I understand but personally I won't hold a sale for P1k kasi nga what if a buyer comes along in those 3 days

Of course you sell the car to the cash buyer and return the 1k. It's a different story if it's 5k.

Oh ang intindi ko kasi if you accept the P1k you absolutely cannot sell the car in 3 days and can't return the P1k

it's a personal agreement between the seller and the prospective buyer.
it's up to the seller if he wants to live up to his side of the bargain or not.

what i've seen some folks do, is to sell the promised car to another person despite the 1K reservation money, and inform the reservationist,
"linigawan ng (important relative's name here) and i couldn't say no. here's your 1K back. sorry."

Same here. Interpretation ko dun is, the buyer is a segurista. Will reserve for a pittance & look around for a better deal, just in case. Meanwhile, the vendor misses chances & if the buyer backs out, vendor has only 1k to show for it. For me, if the buyer is sincere, 10k will be the minimum.

There, the doc put it nicely, but it's really wrong kasi nagkasundo kau, but anyone who agrees to a 1k deposit is definitely not expecting his car to be sold the next day. So if that rare opportunity comes, you have to come up with "solutions".

Don't accept any amount if you don't have plan of holding the item or car for the buyer. Just tell him politely you won't hold it for him. Kung after 3 days andyan pa eh di siya humuli pero pag meron gusto bumili right after niya and babayaran na, ibenta ko doon.

Kung gagawin mo accept the "reservation fee" then you won't hold your end of the deal. It says a lot about you as a person. Kung kaya mo sirain pagkatao mo sa halagang 1k then baka hinde rin totoo sinasabi mo na fresh yun kotse binebenta mo.

Kung mapilit, I’ll probably tell him “that 1k will get you only 2 hours”.

exactly why I said I will be insulted if a buyer gives me P1k to reserve the car for 3 days. Kasi sa puppies nga, usually the reservation fee is P2k non refundable for a puppy that costs less than P15k. Why would I hold a car that costs more than P100k for P1k? What if another buyer comes along in those 3 days and I have to reject the offer because I reserved it for P1k AND then the person who reserves backs out, it's not worth it. Kung P10k then pwede pang bayad for the opportunity cost

it's all about trust. from both sides.
    kung kotse ni cathy yan,
i'd probably agree to her price, sight unseen.
"here's a check for the full amount. call me when it clears, so's i can fetch the car."
assuming the EP number is agreeable.

the most fearful aspect in buying a used car,
    is the provenance.
that's why some folks prefer brand new cars.

Wala naman issue kung tangaapin yun 1k reservation fee but since tinangap mo then you as a person kailangan mo I hold talaga for 3 Days, usapan is usapan kahit meron mag offer sayo ng double the price pero nasabi mo na doon sa unang buyer at tinangap mo yun 1k then tapos ang usapan.

But you can't accept any mount of money then sasabihin mo meron nakabili pagkaalis ng nag pa reserve. Kahit kamaganak pa yan or mas malaki offer hinde mo pwedeng tangapin.
