they do buy "stuff" but the money that they buy stuff with comes from their assets that generate income

Sa definition na yan di na sya mayaman kasi pati auto nya (Civic FD if I recall used pa nga ata) may loan sya sa kumpanya nya... Sabi ni uls kasi mga mayayaman binilbili ang mga depreciating assets like car by paying cash and not having loans. Of course, I agree... Di naman ako mayaman, may-kaya lang pero mga kotse ko lahat yun cash...

that's not what i was referring to when i said people who use private aircraft consider it as a tool to save time

i'll give a local example:

Lucio Tan

he's known to fly around in helicopters

one of his routes is flying from his Biak na Bato residence in QC to his Allied Bank office in Makati

that saves him a lot of time

time that would be wasted if he got stuck in land traffic

his helicopters make him more productive, which makes him more money

income from his businesses pay for the cost of maintaining his helicopters

the aircraft contribute to income by increasing the productivity of the owner

so the aircraft are assets

that's what i meant

naturally, as your standard of living rises, so does the cost to maintain it

so there's pressure to keep on making more money

sir, if it's not for productivity, it's for saving time

time that can be spent making more money than getting stuck in traffic

and in the case of using private jets, it's saving the time that one could lose during the whole process of taking commercial flights

I'm trying to make my saved money earn a bit more than just sitting in my saving account getting 1% gross interest.

Over the last few years I have placed different amounts in different investment funds, etc.

At least these days, I can see some returns already.

But still far from being "rich".
