I heard from the news that sky cable already advised their subscribers to look for other cable services. I wonder how many subscribers have they lost because of this.

Babbler said broadband giant Converge ICT of bilyonaryo Dennis Anthony Uy is reportedly swooping in to rescue SkyCable after its deal with PLDT went kaput yesterday.

Babbler said Converge isn’t just interested in SkyCable’s broadband business, SkyFiber; they’re also eyeing to tap into SkyCable’s pay-TV network to boost their streaming TV service.

In a bold move three years ago, Converge ventured into the streaming TV service market, offering subscribers a one-time purchase of the Vision Experience box for P2,000, along with monthly subscriptions of P99 for 65 channels or P299 for 82 channels.

SkyCable is desperate to get a buyer especially considering that the anticipated P6.75 billion from the fizzled PLDT deal was intended to pay off debt owed by its parent company, ABS-CBN Broadcasting.
