Response from Gabriela lawyer Atty. Alnie Foja:

GABRIELA and GABRIELA WOMEN'S PARTY did not issue any statement in support of Deniece Cornejo. Last Wednesday, GMA7's Sandra Aguinaldo, interviewed me on RAPE 101. In that interview, I NEVER stated nor was I asked about Gabriela's support for Deniece. I was made to understand that Sandra was to do a public information segment about rape in general. That GMA7 allowed the publication of an online article stating that Gabriela expresses support for Deniece based on Sandra Aguinaldo's interview of me on RAPE 101 and that 24 Oras quoted my statement while showing footages of Deniece is DELIBERATELY MISLEADING and MALICIOUS.

I express my regrets that Gabriela and Gabriela Women's Party are dragged into this mess. In the past, I have generously entertained questions from GMA7 reporters even through text messages on legal questions that have nothing to do with my work for Gabriela (I just wanted to help) but what has happened with this interview is so disppointing and traumatic for me.

I am demanding an explanation and an apology from GMA7 for this. Please find below and feel free to share my statement.

We would like to call your attention to an article published online as well as a news report aired over 24 Oras last January 30, 2014 that explicitly stated our group’s support for Ms. Deniece Cornejo. We would like to clarify that we issued no such statement.

It has been the long standing policy of Gabriela Women’s Party and Gabriela National Alliance NOT to comment on issues that we have no first hand knowledge about. In this specific case between Ms. Deniece Cornejo and Mr. Vhong Navarro, neither parties have sought our assistance or opinion.

We would like to clarify that the interview conducted by your reporter, Ms. Sandra Aguinaldo, focused primarily on the issue of rape, advance questions relayed to me were even titled as “RAPE 101″. I was likewise careful not to comment on the controversial case and even told Ms. Aguinaldo that I have not monitored it. The questions propounded to me were about rape and rape victims in general and my answers were made with no reference to any particular victim much less to Deniece. I was asked to explain how rape is committed, its impact and repercussions on the victims, the difficulty of filing cases and how the public should react to the victims’ story.

Unfortunately, the interview, I believe was maliciously spun to make it appear that we in Gabriela are supporting Ms. Cornejo. While we appreciate the network’s effort of having taken down the article immediately, we are calling for a public apology and a clarification from the network so that the audience may be enlightened on the truth. Moreover, we hope that the network will exercise caution in the treatment of future stories.

Here's the truth.. hindi naman talaga galing sa isang mayamang angkan si Deniece. She's the eldest and only daughter of Mr. Dennis Cornejo (a crew in a cruise ship) and Mrs. Milinette Cornejo (socialite-wannabe plain housewife). They live in Antipolo City, a two-storey house (hindi ganon kalakihan). Nag-aaral si Deniece sa DLSU tulad ng madalas nyang pinagmamalaki.

On her facebook account (now is deactivated) she once posted "I deal things in lfe in Lasallian way" (something like that). ANG YABANG DIBA? Kung makapag-englishnaman nakakatawa coz wrong grammar minsan (marami ang nagsasabi). So mga taga La Salle, maipagmamalaki nyo din ba si Ms. Deniece Cornejo?

Mula bata pa lang may angking ganda na tong si Deniece, mukha ng nanay nya at kutis ng tatay nya. At matagal na niyang gustong mag-artista at sumikat. Natatandaan ko pa nga nung nag audition sya for Binibining Pilipinas (can't remember the exact year), di sya nakapasa sa screening kase may katabaan pa sya nun. Kaya nga after nun super diet sya at pinush nya talaga ang pagmomodelo.. pictorial dito.. pictorial dun. Kaya lang may pagka-ilusyonada din tong si Deniece, sa facebook account ulit nya may post sya dun photo of a billboard of herself at sa caption sa New York, USA daw. Eh halata namang edited yung photo at hello? tinalo mo pa sila Anne Curtis? Eksaherada!

Ngayon sikat ka na 'day! *clap clap* trending ka nga eh. Congratulations! Well nasa dugo mo yan.. ang kalandian. Mula sa lola mo na si Florencia Cornejo na naging kabit ng isang abogado, nagmana ka din sa mga tiyahin mo na sila Dimples Cornejo Pangilinan na nag-asawa ng isang matandang mayaman para lamang masunod ang kasosyalan at Mil Manzano na isang adik at 5 ang naging anak sa 3 lalake.

Matapang at mayabang ka dahil sa koneksyon ng pamilya mo. Marami talaga kayong koneksyon dahil angkan nga kayo ng malalandi. At sino ang tinatawag mong lolo? Si Mr. Rod Cornejo (former executive of GMA network) na cousin or second cousin lang naman ng lolo mo? Papaano ka nya mapagtatanggol at matutulungan? Eh kahit nga may koneksyon sya sa isang malaking network eh di ka nga nya natulungang sumikat at bigyan ka ng break or project. Patawa ka girl! Sino pang pinagyayabang mo? Si Cedric Lee? Oo mayaman nga ang boyfriend mo. (AND YES TAMA PO ANG NABASA NYO BABAE SYA NI CEDRIC LEE) Kaya nga ganon na lang ang galit ni Cedric Lee kay Vhong eh dahil nahuli nya nakikipaglandian ang babaeng pinalalamon nya sa isang Vhong Navarro, Binigyan ng condo, ng kotse at lahat ng luho ni Deniece binibigay ni Cedric Lee, mga mamahaling bag at iba pang materyal na bagay. Sa laki ng investments ni Cedric Lee kay Deniece hindi nito basta basta papakawalan si Deniece. At sa takot ni Deniece na baka pati sya at ang pamilya nya ipapatay ni Cedric Lee, pinaratangan nya si Vhong Navarro na pinagtangkaan syang gahasahin. Nakita mo na ang naging bunga ng kalandian mo Deniece?

Sino pa ang kakapitan mo ngayon? AHH.. yung tiyahin mo na si Mil Manzano Diaz, na ngayon ay mayaman na dahil sa illegal nyang negosyo. Calling the attention of the NBI, BIR, DOLE and the Republic of the Philippines. Imbestigahan nyo ang taong to ang kanyang mga negosyo, sila ng asawa nya ang may koneksyon sa mga malalaking tao at SINDIKATO sa loob at labas ng Pilipinas. Hawak nila ang pagbebenta online ng ****ograpiya at pati droga sa bansang ito. Minsan na sila na-NBI pero nakalusot dahil nagbayad sila at may nakuhang koneksyon sa loob mismo ng NBI. Madulas at mahirap matiklo ang maruming negosyo ng Mil Manzano Diaz na ito dahil malalaki at makapangyaring tao ang mga nasa likod nila. UMAKSYON KAYO!
