For a stretch of 160 km, I got a fuel consumption of 19.7 km/L. Highway driving for 140 km, I was surprised to reach 20.3 km/L. This is based from built-in trip meter.
I used cruise control and set my speed at 82 kph. I admit that I finally got "tired" that I decided to stop and take a nap. When I resumed driving, I disciplined myself to continue with cruise control. It was a long, long drive.
What I find more surprising is, there are a lot of SUV's slower than me and some cars that are staying in the fast lane. Just when I thought I was very slow...

I highly recommend you get one, Mazda 6 or CX-5. They have the same engine. My brother said that Santa Fe is "slow" while Tucson is "fast". I have driven CR-V SX for about half an hour and it feels "lethargic". It can run fast, of course, but you won't feel the "push". With SKYACTIV-D, you can always "feel the power" anytime you want it. There's no way I can describe it here, you need to drive one to know it. Or rather, you must own one to fully understand what I'm saying.
No offense to CR-V owners, I myself owns a CR-V although not the new SX model. It wasn't available last December so I opted for Mazda 6.

February 2nd, 2018 02:25 PM #170Twas a blessing for me. I initially wanted diesel but it would create havoc on my budget hence I initially opted for gas. However the long wait made me impatient so I prayed hard for provision that I will get the first soul red crystal that arrives, gas or diesel and will consider it a sign. Then after a week, Mazda Pampanga called and told me they have a diesel unit. The rest is history.
