looks like the recently held mazda test drive day at the fort was a success...

In a recent well-attended public test drive conducted by Mazda Philippines at the Fort Global City, its managing director, Dave "Mr. Mac" Macasadia nonchalantly told me that 15 confirmed orders were made and still counting as I joined him for a hot dog lunch. And that was only lunch with still half of the day ahead. I learned later that 50 plus reservations were also made and quite a slew of very serious inquiries that would only need a follow up were registered.

Mazda Philippines is currently faced with a "welcome problem" (although a problem just the same) of having a waiting list of buyers for their very successful Mazda 3. I was telling him that it could be a very tricky situation, with those who may be impatiently in line opting to have a vehicle of lesser choice. But "Mr. Suave", the ever cool and easy Mr. Mac that the media have always known him to be is assuring all those waiting in line that they would have it worth their time. He’ll be sending all of you letters that you would be glad you received.

Now you’ll be waiting for two things — the car and the letter. Isn’t that a real bargain?

umm just talked to a sales agent sabi nila parang nxt upgrade ata ng mazda 3 is gps system?? totoo ba ito and mp3 compatible radio

medyo madami tao nun time nandun ako kaya madami ako nde natanong sa salespeople:

anyway, here are my q's:

1. MP3-compatible po ba yun stereo ng MZ3?

2. Ano po ba ibig sabihin ng Activematic? Manual without the clutch? How this it work? mas fuel efficient po ba ito?

3. gano kabilis nyo nakuha yun ordered unit nyo, sabi kase down ka ng 50k tapos wait for 3 months? pero kung blue color baka in a month daw, okey na sa kin yun blue, fave color ko yun. but I do prefer the steel silver.

4. how would you rate Mazda's after sales service quality, more particularly, Mazda Gh, mukang bagong-bago pa yun showroom nila, AS COMPARED to Honda or Toyota.

5. And replacement/spare parts, medyo may kamahalan po kaya or almost the same range with Honda/Toyota parts? Nadala na kasi kami sa Chevy, mura nga yung unit, pero grabe tumaga sa parts. (first time for us to venture into Mazda cars)



6. Among the 3 sedan models (exclude the hb), which would you recommend to buy? Of course, the best talaga yun 2.0 (parang talaga naka-BM, and yun lang nakita model ko unit sa GH), pero 200k difference nya sa sa base model. Mayroon ba front interior lights yun base model? and will the 15" inch mags do justice to the Mazda body exterior (the main reason why I fell-in-love with Mz3)?

AFAIK, it is an automatic tranny... but you can also manually select (like a M/T) the gears...

pinaka sulit yung mid-range model (yung may mga airbags, etc). naka 16" rims na yun...

IMHO, the best unit to buy depends on you.
If you want performance, the 2.0L is the only one to buy.
If you want maximum utility, the HB version has the biggest interior space.
If you want simply a very good car to drive, the sedan 1.6L is more than enough for most requirements.
