Exterior executed much better than the current CX-5. Interior is a masterpiece. Powered by the same 2.2L turbodiesel from the CX-5 tuned to 188 hp 450Nm.

Going to be exported to markets outside Japan by 2018. Malaysia will reportedly get the 2.5L NA Petrol from the CX-5. I'm sure this will reach the PH by next year since Bermaz is the Mazda distributor for both MY and PH.

Size comparison with CX-5 and CX-9. Basically a LWB CX-5 retaining the same width, added length to fit the extra row of seats. CX-9 still a much larger vehicle in all aspects.

    L x W x H x Wheelbase (in mm)

    CX-5 4,550 x 1,840 x 1,675 x 2,700

    CX-8 4,900 x 1,840 x 1,730 x 2,930

    CX-9 5,075 x 1,969 x 1,747 x 2,930

If Mazda brings it here and price it just above the CX5 diesel, then the new Honda CRV 7-seater diesel is in for a tough competition.

as a reference it is almost the same length as the everest but slimmer in width. it looks good. +1 on the pricing it must be competitive.

Doubt it ... the CX-5 can't even outsell the Honda CR-V even if they came out with a diesel variant in the market first ...

Even w/ product edge, Mazda doesn't get enough units from Hiroshima to outsell anyone. That plant has been operating on capacity serving many markets.
With AFTA, excise & supply in mind, their redirection to extract CX5s from the INOKOM plant seems like a sound strategic move.
When the 8 will be coming??? That remains to be seen.
