June 20th, 2014 11:49 PM #1523Finished back reading both the Forester and CX-5 thread since my wife is planning to buy a new vehicle and was helping her decide which one to buy. We are down to the forester and CX-5 to request for a test drive. My heart is initially for the subaru but upon learning the 0% interest on the AWD and reading the reviews here and in other sites (specially the FC) my brain is telling me to get the mazda ;) Pero syempre si mrs pa din masusunod
Anyway forgot to ask some questions to the agent when we saw it in the flesh, hope some of you guys can help
does it have a power tail gate?
GPS Navigation built in? If none magkano kaya damage pag nagpalagay?
CBU from Japan or Malaysia? (read in the previous pages that mazda has a plant there in Malaysia and will began exporting by spring)
BTW I ask the agent about the speed sensing lock and according to him it can automatically lock by choosing between the speed or time elapsed after starting the vehicle, will test it once I got the chance to schedule the test drive

AFAIK only the Forester Premium and Turbo have powered tailgates.
None of them have navigation. Better get an external navigator than mess with the electronics IMO.
Both are CBU Japan. The Malaysian factories are RHD only for now.
My wife is going for the Forester over the CX5 due to better all around visibility. We sat in the CX5 and though she knows I love its driving abilities (my dad has one of the rare MTs) she didn't feel at ease inside it. When we sat in the Forester the acres of glass wowed her and that sealed the deal.Last edited by JohnM; June 21st, 2014 at 12:11 AM.

June 21st, 2014 01:26 AM #1525Tnx for the reply, the test drive / viewing of the unit will probably be one of the major factor for my wife also, but knowing her, getting a good deal is most probably a clincher for her as long as the two cars are almost head to head in terms of features and driving dynamics

June 30 pero baka daw maextend sabi nung agent, tapos sa BPI free pa insurance mo ng 1 year, inhouse, applicable lng sa CX-5 AWD. Magkakaiba lang sa cash out sa chattel mortgage since yung 50% down and 3 years LTO eh malamang parepareho. Trying to get some more freebies sa agent (rain guard, mud guard etc) kaso since 0% daw eh wala na sila mabibigay
Kaya nga I am trying to see if there is a catch at this irresistible deal. Baka panu next month CBU from Malaysia na units tapos laki bawas sa price and dadagdagan pa ng iEloop ba yun
kung hindi naman masyado mahal, replace na all, po. save yourself the downtime and effort.
