We have a Mazda 2/2016, question with regards to the battery, we just got a test report that the battery should be replaced. Would getting a CTEK CT5 prolong the current battery life?
Or should I just purchase a new one then use ctek on new battery?
Current battery reading is:
VOLTS - 12.22V
MEASURED - 124 CCA
RATING - 355 CCA
TIA
Scrap my question, wala pala kameng istop. LOL!!!

For your peace of mind, buy a new one and that CTEK battery charger. On the other hand, if you like to have some sort of "adventure" like me, you can buy a jump-start battery for you to continue using your old battery.
In a way, you are "extending" the life of your old battery. In other words, you'll be delaying the inevitable of buying a new battery. In case the battery died, you use your jump-start battery to start your engine. Your next stop is a battery shop.

October 11th, 2018 11:52 PM #156Personally, I would just replace it with a new battery.
Unless you are maintaining multiple batteries or have a car that just sits in your garage for weeks and months, I find it hard to justify the price of a battery tender. I would just keep my battery and replace it once it's dead.

I believe that you can justify the cost of a battery tender once you have extended the life of your battery for a year or two.
In my case, my battery cost about 20k. I don't have plans to replace it next year so I am using CTEK battery charger. Plus, I always bring a jump-start battery.

From experience, a good tender does extend regular batt life around a coupla years. CTEK is worth getting.[emoji106]

For modern cars, the EPS seems to be more ubiquitous as the traditional engine-driven PSF...
