Anyone here has diesel variant? Change oil interval is every 10,000 km for gasoline variants but 5,000 km for diesels. However, the dealership said mine should be 10,000. I don't know which one to believe, them or the Owner's Manual.
In this age of heavy traffic, oil change intervals shouldn't be distance but operating time based. I wouldn't wait for the listed 10k kms.
How far do you run in a 6mo span, sir? Unlikely 10k kms, right?

They said that they are using synthetic oil and is good for 10k. However, the Owner's Manual made an exception for Malaysia and Philippines. I've been waiting for their call the whole day to confirm it. I requested a written statement coming from Mazda Philippines if the dealership will insist on their procedure for 10k change oil intervals.

I took the unit last December 19. I'm now running beyond 7,000 km. This car is not usually subjected to heavy traffic as I seldom go to Manila and Cavite.

I'd go with the owner's manual. Petrol engines are on 6mo/10k interval. I won't go that far. SkyDs have DPF.

Yeah let me know too as I also plan to drain half of the lubricant and refill come 15k on my own. I saw the used oil and it's too black na for me though it's not viscous naman.

Mazda iStop or Honda Start/Stop Battery woes?
You have the Motolite option thru dealerships w/ 1yr warranty:

    OR
Finally, you have the higher spec'd, competitively priced Delkor from Johnson Controls, same maker of Varta & Optima, w/ 15mo. warranty.

For details, call or viber OVTph, +639174726847

And iStop relearning? Check this DIY:

    1. Warm the engine up. Turn everything electrical off that you can - radio, A/C, lights, chargers, etc. Bring it close to electrical load.

    2. Switch the ignition off.

    3. Switch ignition to on but dont start engine. Long-press the i-stop OFF switch for 3 s within 5 s after switching the ignition ON.

    4. Start the engine.

    5. Press the i-stop OFF switch. Verify that the i-stop indicator light (green) flashes and stays flashing. If it does not flash, go back to Step 3.

    6. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes, or until the i-stop indicator light (green) turns off. Mine didnt stop flashing so after 10 minutes or so i just went to step 7.

    7. Switch the engine off. Wait a minute or two.

    8. Start the engine. Go for a drive, and check that the i-stop system operates normally. Those with i-stop will know that you may need to drive a mile or two until it activates. Remember that i-stop will not operate when (a) for diesels...when engines are in DPF regen mode, and (b) in those other conditions stated in the manual. Also, if a new battery was fitted, it may take some time for the new battery to fully charge up before i-stop will start working. Go for a decent drive so it gets fully charged.

    9. If i-stop operates as normal, reset it was a success.

Would've been better to just start a new thread instead of flooding the forum with the same post ...

I just called and they said that they are still waiting for Mazda Philippines for confirmation about my concern for oil change intervals.

They blotted out the cost because I'm still under Yojin's warranty.
