Well they dug their own grave with the price/specs. The 2.0L SkyActiv of the CX-5 originally debut in the Mazda3. Not sure why they chose to use the old 2.0L engine.

By the time na magka facelifted 3 tayo dito (in 2015?), may ALL NEW na sa ibang bansa.

hay naku nakaka-frustrate nga 'yang Mazda Phil..na 'yan... dapat kasi sila nag di-dictate kung ano specs ng mga sasakyan dadalhin dito.... somehow puro mga kulang kulang dinadala nila....

the CX-5: wala pang Diesel (Euro 4 diesel fuel available na din naman, though limited nga lang).
eto MZ3 late na, tapos ngayon eh di pa din yung Direct injected SkyActiv-G.....

sa MZ2: may SkyActiv-G na 1.3li+CVT sa JPN. di pa din nilabas dto...

I have a feeling that Mazda PH is the one dictating what units they will and will not sell.

O.T. Mas mabenta nga yung MZ2 sa Japan, last time ako nagpunta sa Yokohama and Tokyo areas 4 months ago, 7 to 1 ratio ng sightings ko between MZ2 and Jazz.

Maganda yung Mazda3. Problema talaga yung pricing. Sana di na lang sila magtaka bakit lumalangaw yung stock nila.

I can't imagined my 2008 MZ3 has the same old engine with the 2012 MZ3.

Pero in fairness ganda ng design external and internal. Nawala na rin obvious smiley face nya kahit paano.

Let's wait na lang for the new Mazda 6, baka may laban pa to sa Sonata.

Eh? Yung current Honda Civic din naman same engine as the 2006 Civic ah. Same transmission too.

The current Mazda 3 at least gets a tranny update (imagine a 1.3M sedan with a 4-AT hahahaha). I'd take the Mazda 3's engine over the Civic 1.8 EXi's anytime. Walang ka-hatak hatak yung R18A kumpara sa 2.0 MZR nung Mz3.

For the 2-liter version, presyo lang talaga problema. OK naman specs eh, at par with the competition. Personally ayoko rin ng kotseng masyado maraming toys pero mas mahal ng 100k sa competition, so I'd rather they lower the price to 1.1-1.2M than add more features and keep it at 1.3M.
