    Sir sniper:

I think it just a matter of luck - good or bad kung huhuliin ka.

Frequently when I try transporting stuff (usually on a Sunday kasi mas tina-tamad yung mga buwaya) I am stopped by 'enterprising' policemen.

I once accompanied a friend who bought a jet ski from another from another friend in Tierra Pura, (it was a Sunday) and we were stopped along Commonwealth next to the Iglesia in Kristo Central by one of those policemen.

Php 1000 later, he escorted us all the way to West Triangle Village (malapit kina Prez Noynoy).

Try leaving early Sunday morning or late Sunday afternoon, avoid major roads and drive inconspicously.

Load the refrigerator as close as possible to the roll-bar, and tie it down securely.

Also pack some items around it so hindi siya nag-iisa. Try to make it look like a lipat-bahay affair, but don't let things over-hang the sides or cover your rear vision entirely.

    GOOD LUCK PRE!!!!

    Sincerely,

    Dusky Lim

This is interesting, sir. So what did the cop say your violation was? Illegal towing of a bought jet ski?hehe

Good thing I haven't been pulled over due to a big furniture or thing at the back of my truck though when we brought chairs and those detachable round tables with their feet that we put on the bed when we had this event in our province, I thought we will be pulled over in NLEX, but they didn't. We also recently bought a fridge in SM Fairview but not a single cop flagged us considering the number of cops surrounding the vicinity of SM Fairview. I guess you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But I don't get it why they would pull over, particularly a pickup, if it has a load higher than its roof. It's not like we're carrying an object that will be used to build a flyover. That's why we bought pickups because we use it for hauling bigger stuffs. If for them the only allowable height of our cargo is only as high as its roof, we should have just bought or used our SUVs instead.

    Dear Sniper and rna:

Well it really all depends, and luck has a lot to do with it.

Isa pa, our policemen love to arrest people who look like me.

BTW in addition to Ronn's advice, check your tire pressures - set them high, minimum of 40 psig when carrying heavy loads.

    Best Regards,

    Dusky Lim

PS - kelan yung bagong EB?

At what ratio Ronn? nilagay ng driver ko is the green coolant, dont know the brand. Hindi umiinit sa temp gauge but I noticed when I opened the radiator cap na parang may foam build up. Is this normal? kailan na ba ang eb ulit?

    Sir bors:

Any clear, colored 'coolant' are usually mixtures of ethylene glycol (a 'diol' or di-hydroxy alcohol), a colorant, water and some corrosion inhibiting substances.

The bulk of the mix is ethylene glycol - which is a TOXIC, thick, heavy (syrupy-sweet!) odorless and colorless liquid.

Ethylene glycol is used because of it's extremely high boiling point - about 197 deg C (nearly double that of water) AND the fact that it's miscible in all proportions with water.

The resulting water-glycol mixture obeys Raoult's Law - (that the properties of a mixture are analogous to the proportions of its constituent components) and has a boiling point higher than 100 deg C.

Adding glycol thus prevents overboil and nucleate boiling in the engine.

The foaming does NOT come from the glycol but from the anti-corrosion additives reacting with deposits in your engine.

I hate to tell you this but you have to flush these out of your engine (along with the expensive coolant) so that they don't block your radiator or the narrow passages in your engine.

Replace the existing water with distilled water (use SM-Bonus distilled kasi pareho lang daw sa Absolute sabi ni Sir Gerivic - thanks!) and continue to flush out your system at least once a week until it clears.

Then you can fill up with distilled water and coolant again.

    Best Regards,

    Dusky Lim

Hi guys, Im just new to this thread. Im so glad theres activities and group like this . Im working abroad and going back to philippines soon. Im planning to buy pick-up truck but my budget is tight. I have a friend whos selling his B2200. I was struck the first time I look into picture. its so classic, simple and sweet to my eyes.
He explained to me the entire condition of his B2200 and Im so glad it was well maintain but only one problem, the Gear Differential need an attention.

Guys, Help me on what are the things I get notice or driving consequences when Gear Differencial is getting starting to worn out? How much parts and labor nito? madali lang ba makahanap ng parts nito? Any advise if this is a god buy?
Thank you and more power to all Mazda B-Series Team

    * nizmo: sir, that's a well maintained truck! you gotta love the beige interior!

rear axle/differential? if you need to change/fix it, i think the rear axle of the pajero (including rear discs, which i plan to do...) will fit right.

when are you coming home sir? buy the truck!

    Dear Nizmo:

1st - Welcome to our humble thread.

Now if there is a practical and experienced suspension and transmission man in our group that would probably be pigface (mark).

Calling sir pigface - we need your expertise here ....

If you need help and advice on change of engine you can ask bborces about his experience with a change of engine on his B2200.

If it standard engine maintenance stuff I will be glad to help.

About the next EB - .....

    Best Regards,

    Dusky Lim

    P.S. Keep on trucking!!!

Sir Azzkkr2600 Thank you sa suggestion.

Sir Vanich thank you sa suggestion.

*nizmo - First of, welcome to mazda mini truckers club!

    On Transmission:
is this 4x4 or 4x2? having a stock differential and stock transmission replaced plus labor is WAYYYY CHEAP! Be sure boss that its a replacement for the whole part. Here comes my question earlier, kung 4x4 yan, you will need transfercase for the transmission, and that alone will take you around 20-30k (mahirap mag hanap ng original mazda). Kung 4x2 lang sia, yeah 15k is cheaper already.

    On Differential:
If your differential is busted, and you have plans of lifting the truck in order to use bigger tires, you will be needing a higher gear ratio of ring and pinions on that. Di pwede ang stock differential when youre running on 33'sx10.5. so that will depend on your preference on what tire size you want. The truck is lowered, so I'm guessing stock differential din ang gagamitin mo since the tires wont be that big. There are no re-gearing for mazda trucks, so what we offroaders normally would suggest is... GO FOR TOYOTA SURPLUS. haha. I didnt change my differential because I dont plan to use my mazda for hard core trailing, and toyota re-gearing alone will cost you 80k. Again, 12-15k on stock differential and transmission replacement is already cheap! Make sure this is mazda. Kung pajero ang gagamitin mo like what sir ronn is planning, pwede din, but you will feel a higher push once you accelerate because the pajero's stock gearing is higher than mazda's stock gearing. Of course this is not an issue for the truck of sir ronn since his truck is already lifted. Here is the catch, mechanics will tell you "oh eto kasia ang differential sa truck mo, pwede na yan" but the science there is you need to know the correct gear ratio in order to achieve optimal performance. Any mechanic in banawe can change your differential, but ask them if they know what ratio you should be using, and thats where quality vs. benta lang ang habol comes into place.

    Now on to lifting,
We have a product called AIR BAG SUSPENSIONS. This type of suspension will give you an instant 2-3" lift or 2-3" drop (yes you read that right, DROP!) So you can change instantaneous if you want to lift or lower your truck. Mejo may kamahalan to, but we've been using this since we started rock crawling. this is your choice if you want to lower your truck, but when you need to load it, you can lift it. If you want a permanent lift either for performance or comfort, we have several fabricated lift kits for you. With my truck, I used ironman lift kits, it comes with leaf springs, torsion bar for higher crank, shocks, bushings, and spacers.

So all these depends on your preference and your plans for the truck. You could either go high or go low. hehe. But it all boils down to enjoying your truck! Good luck!

How's your truck doing?

By the way, someone called tito Mon, he said he was from mazda club, I dont know the name, but he was asking for a lift kit. who ever you are just mention that you are from mazda club, tito Mon will know to you discount.

Walang ibang nangyari kasi same ang besta at stock b2200 differential gear ratio.

Dear pigface (ahem - martin - sorry bout that!):

Ok naman ang pickup ko, we haven't had much input from the others in the thread lately, especially si Sir Gerivic - ganadong-ganado pa siya mag out-of-town na biyahe - sayang!

As usual, am still experimenting with many things, particularly improving the performance - improving the timpla of the additive, getting better results from the water-injection, etc.

I've had some conversation with Dieseldude (actually Jake Arellano of Central Diesel Clinic) about the Bosch VE-series of fuel injection pumps and if you guys are interested, I will post my conclusions.

    Best Regards,

    Dusky Lim

    Keep on Trucking!!!
