thanks for the very informative reply!
every time i buy a 2nd hand car, even though the seller will tell me the vehicle just got an oil change, i always have all the fluids changed ang replace all the filters. i had the mistake of buying a Mobile1 mono grade oil, but next time ill but a semi-synthetic one.
i did have the fuel system bled, but i still have yet to have the injection pump checked by my suking tayer. ill have this done together with the valve adjustment on the next oil change.
its a B2200 NA, so i guess a 2 in pipe would do.
sir, regarding the pipes, when ill have them changed it is still ok to use the stock primary and secondary muff?
also, regarding the speed, with the 235/70/15 tires and current hard cold start problem, my top speed was only 90kph with my pedal to the metal, is this normal or should it be higher?
thanks!
* ronn

Anyone planning to have their B-Series rear drumbrakes converted to discs? I have asked several mechanics that rear disc conversion wouldn't have much change in stopping power. Is this true?
Would the rear disc brake assembly of the Pajero Fieldmaster fit our trucks? Sir bborces, any feedback from your friends?![]()
Dear Ronn:
Sir, that really depends.
I have found in my own case (I still use an original set of rear brake shoes at 115,000 km) that your stopping power and linearity are really dependent upon the performance of your rear brakes.
After about 3-4 months (depending on where and how much you drive) I find that I have to have the rear brakes cleaned and adjusted - yes, there is an automatic adjuster and yes - it does work.
The original shoes produce a lot of brake dust (dangerous to breathe - its asbestos), and when the drum is full it actually causes the brakes to fade.
So it's necessary to dismantle the brake and clean out the dust and set the adjuster to just enough to allow slight freewheeling.
Then you will find that the pickup stops hard and true straight, without fishtailing.
Personally, i feel that replacing them with discs is expensive and unnecessary - remember its' a pick-up and carries heavy loads, and the original drums are very large do a good job.
I have overhauled the master cylinder several times and replaced the front pads about 5 times, but I haven't had to replace the rear drums yet!
That may be because the first 5 years I drove it with badly adjusted rear brakes, now that they are correctly adjusted, the braking is excellent.
Just my 2 cents.
Regards,
Dusky Lim
PS - Hindi pa sumasagot si Titoy.
thanks for the insight sir dusky! yes it's quite expensive * P10T for the surplus assembly without the brake pads! i just thought that it would increase power + a one-of-a-kind conversion.
i follow the periodic maintenance guide listed in my truck's manual though. i'm currently using RICO (Japan) rear brake shoes and BENDIX Metal King Plus pads in front. the pads will be replaced with EBC Ultimax brake pads before the summer ends.
the RICOs were installed 7 years ago and as per the last time i checked/cleaned/adjusted it, it was still half thick. should i now replace the rear shoes because the brake compound is too old? fyi, FMC in las pinas is now closed.. where can we buy original (Japan) Mazda parts? does mazford carry some origs?
anyone have their contact numbers? appreciate it.

Mga Sir, tanong ko lang baka may alam kayo mura bilihan ng gulong natin ? size is 235x75 r15 model A/T DUELER694 , s bridgestone fort.branch ako nagtanong kanina P6,221.70each. tapos meron din s 20th ave.cubao, brand new tires Kenda brand same size but H/T dueler naman P3,600 isa. Anu kaya ang matibay at sulit? Kindly give advises... Thanks in advance.
between bridgestone and kenda, bridgestone na. but wait first, i'm still asking someone from this forum for information about general grabber A/T tires. cheap lang daw nabili e.
if you have the budget, go for the yokohama geolandar A/T tires. made in japan. got mine 3-4 years ago for P7500 each, size 31x10.5 MT+ tires. medium compound. it's worth it!![]()
