Montero:
Diesel
7 seater
higher ground clearance
CX7
Gas
5 seater
Faster acceleration
Lots of airbags and with traction control
If for family car, get the montero.

September 21st, 2010 04:26 PM #663I went to mazda alabang a while ago and yes, they now offer the ipod kit with no issues on warranty. if my memory serves me right, they have 2 units available * 30k each inclusive of installation.
does anyone here ever tried to replace their HU with that of Mazda OEM or china made LCD/DVD/GPS/bluetooth offered on ebay? I've seen one CX7 in alabang with LCD installed but i prefer those specifically fitted for our CX7 so as we can still utilize the MID and steering controls.

hmmm, with the problems/issues i have been reading about the montero, i am not sure i would like it as my family car. might as well consider another more reliable 7 seater
i had a choice between getting the 7 and the montero (i was reserved for both and ready for delivery on the same day) and i am glad i opted for the 7
it has been a trouble free ride since day 1
and i am sure it will continue. there is just something about these CBU japan units that never fails to impress me

So sorry for the late reply. I haven't been logging on of late due to too much work.
If I were to drive, I choose the CX7 because it really is a "driver's car." It's just much more fun. Interiors are also far superior as well as the ride.
On the plus side of the Montero, more spacious (third row seating, but really just for kids to be honest), cooler aircon (CX7 is fine though, just not as cold if you're pushing the aircon to the limit), and better mileage.
But hey, I did my research before buying both cars and am perfectly happy with them.
Hope this helps.

October 22nd, 2010 08:26 PM #668Hi Fellow CX7 Owners, I just got mine ( Copper Red) 2011 model from Mazda Alabang last Oct. 20, 2010. Great timing since mine just arrived along with 15 units last Oct. 13. Knowing that there is a long waiting list for this model, I asked my wife to reserve one and fortunately, the new batch has arrived. Can't wait to drive my new SUV
Base price is 1,495,000 plus 51,000 to cover 3 years LTO registration and comprehensive insurance ( including acts of god) for a year. Is the additional insurance and registration cost reasonable? Thanks for any input

congrats on your new baby, zoom zoom na
i am beginning to see more 7 owners, but still not that common which is good. two days ago, katabi ko isang silver 7 in makati
as to the cost, it seems a bit high. i remember paying only about P9T for my 3 year LTO registration and about P25T for my 1 year comprehensive insurance (including AOG)

October 23rd, 2010 04:02 PM #670Thanks 111prez. Yes ,I thought the price was excessive.Actually, it should have been 61,000 daw. Would appreciate letting me know which Company you had your car insured. The salesman told us that we will only get the license plate after a month ( does it take this long)? Thanks again
personally, i'd think thrice, before buying that toyota brand new rack and pinion, to fix my 2003...
