August 1st, 2017 02:00 PM #9722Any recommendation for a car battery para sa 1.5V? My stock battery just died paglabas sa garahe. Any specific brand/model number? Ang sabi nyo is to stay away from Motolite.

August 4th, 2017 09:19 AM #9726Recently kasi maganda yung feedback about sa performance ng Amaron vs. Motolite. Kaya siguro hindi na din ma-irecommend as primary battery replacement si Motolite.

August 4th, 2017 10:02 AM #9727around 2 years ago, my 3sm motolite battery died prematurely. Since I had one more month till the warranty expired, I called motolite to have it replaced. They gave me the runaround, even seemingly 'blaming' me insinuating that I had my lights on overnight or the alarm went off overnight (which will never be the case since the car is directly below my bedroom and would have no doubt noticed those scenarios). Motolite even suggested that I should go to their motolite branch (somewhere near UST yata... can't recall now) to have my 'electricals' checked. As expected, they would not lend me a battery while I do what they are suggesting (how can i even bring it there if it won't start?). I went to my friendly neighborhood talyer to see if they can find any parasitic draw.... they found none of course and just laughed and said, "ganyan talaga ang motolite...." so apparently, I'm not the only victim.
So ever since, I've sworn off Motolite. The Motolite warranty is useless as they will not honor it... especially if you only have a few months left before the warranty expires.

August 4th, 2017 10:11 AM #9728in contrast, in one instance, when my battery seemed to have "died prematurely" (1 month before warranty expired), i brought it to the motolite outlet where i had been buying all my batteries from, for over a decade. they checked the battery, they checked my charging system. then they gave me a replacement battery, no other questions asked. they even had the original transaction in their computer. i did not have to present the receipt.
i suppose, it boils down to the folks running the shop and not the brand.
in all the other instances, the battery died after the warranty period, 2-3 months after warranty (el cheapo model, intended for gas but i used it anyway on my diesel, so i can't really complain too much, because i have a habit of turning off the engine during long stoplight cycles), to double the warranty period (diesel, over 4 years).Last edited by dr. d; August 4th, 2017 at 10:17 AM.
