Speedlab is offering ecu reflash for Mazda skyactivs. Worth it?

And it seems that they're referring to OVTph with this line:

unlike other people who do meetups and simply just load a tune that who knows where it came from and if you really make power

OVT has been w/ Mazda for the longest time. It has carved a name for itself thru proven SAFE CUSTOM Tunes. It remains the most trusted to this day...worldwide.
Here's some history I never wish to have to share....but for the interest & welfare of Sky owners, let me put this out....The tuner referred above has had interest in carrying OVT here very early on, but plans fell through. Instead, they force-guinea'd Unichip(the piggyback they carry) on a number of Skyactivs, when there wasn't any official Skyactiv support from the makers of Unichip yet. The results were regrettable, traumatic, disastrous. A number of those guinea-piggybacked removed theirs with....sadly....no moneyback.
Now, they're offering ECU-Reflashes? Kinda Johnny-come-lately, don't they seem? Wonder what happened to the godly Unichip they placed on the pedestal...[emoji848]
To be fair & objective, I know not how they're received outside the Skyactiv community, but within, the stench is all over.[emoji40]
Read its marketing pitch..... unethical, pathetic & desperate. It's lone convenient lure is what? An in-house dyno? The name is apt. A 'LAB' is where experiments happen. Some succeed, some FAIL!!!![emoji17]The offer is there for anyone TO TAKE AT OWN RISK.
Please pardon the rant, guys. I've no commercial affiliation w/ nor interest in either tuner... Just a fellow Mown3r here who has followed the Skyactiv tuning evolution from way back.[emoji111]

Now that's a very interesting insight sir Travs! This is something we will learn only from a community of car enthusiasts.

I've been reading some of the posts from Speedlab's fb page lately and came across some posts offering free tuning for selected car models. I reckon these are the guinea pig freebies that they offer to experiment on their reflashing tweaks.

Again, apologies, jojo sir. I always refrain & distance self from all the negativity...but the threads on here are supposedly for free, proper, objective guidance.

Is there really a significant gain from these tuning stuffs? I mean what more can you ask from a tiny 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine? How much more power can you wring from it? Will it be worth it? Honest question.

So many of these 1.5 Skyactivs have been OVTuned...3's & 2s. I've driven em side by side w/ stock ones. Honest answer? Hands down...YES, sir. Once there, you'll never wanna go back.[emoji106]

Appreciate the nod, jojo sir. For whatever reason we're all here, can't deny that this forum is a rich resource of helpful 1st hand info & useful knowledge....And the bullcrap & banter? They help forge the unique tsikoteer camaraderie. I'd like to believe that we all got each other's backs.[emoji4][emoji106]
