I think that should work but I reckon that would quickly drain the android phone's battery. For those who don't need to use the OBD-II scanner while driving, the BT should be enough.
Found another OBD-II scanner that seems good also (at least based on majority of Amazon reviews)

BAFX is good, too. That has been around for some time now.
Smartphone OBD apps like Torque got gauges. I've developed the habit of monitoring the engine's behavior thru them. Rarely is the scan function needed, but when the CEL pops, you'll be grateful.[emoji4]
