It won't hurt the engine or transmission.

the brakes and and more importantly the airbags should still work lol.

    Mazda experts.. need your advise..

I checked a 2016 Mazda 2.0 soul red hatchback BM with 10k kms on the ODO for 675k.. do you think its a good buy?

    Some things i noticed..

Medyo ma vibrate ba talaga ang skyactive engine?

At first start medyo may ugong sya then after a few seconds nawawala?

Normal ba na bumibitaw yung pandikit ng hood reinforcement? Napansin ko medyo wobbly yung hood pag nakataas at almost 80% nung adhesive material ay bumitaw na.

    Salamat po

10k km at the price? Great find. Worthier if the owner you're buying from has car OCD.[emoji4]
    Vibrations? Not really. Describe more.
Accelerated cold start is normal for all Skyactivs. High RPM for a few secs. That's to get to op temp faster.
The BM/BN 3's bonnet will expectedly be wobblier than what we're all accustomed to. It's longer, wider than most compacts. Are you sure the mastic or PU adhesion has failed? They are supposed to gap the outer sheet & the inner to prevent NVH.

yes, i took pictures of it eh.. almost all adhesive in the middle part already gave way.. either it is sticking on the hood or on the reinforcement... others are trying their best.. i'm afraid it is a sign that the hood was open for a long time due to an extensive engine repair?

regarding vibrations, i find it vibrating more compared with my kia picanto 1.2 engine but not the same vibrations that can be observed from a 2.4 2GD toyota engine..

also I find the engine to have a little "growl" for a few seconds in 1.2k rpm and disappears after a few seconds.

yojin 3 for the mazda has already lapsed and the maintenance minder light is already ON.

battery is still the original i-stop spec. i find some corrosion on the battery negative post.

engine bay is relatively clean with the usual dust and no leaks observed especially on the valve covers.

tried the AC and it cooled the cabin easily in the afternoon sun.. is there a cabin filter? how much is it and can it be replaced DIY?

sunroof is OK and working, relatively clean with few dust surrounding the area. ceiling is OK with no traces of leaks. all windows ok. engaged D and R, transmission responded immediately!

I don't think the infotainment is updated! and there is no NAVI function (need to contact dealer it said). are there critical car controls in the infotainment? say if it get busted?

Did not perform test drive yet and if i will, what are the things should I look and hear for?

I'm taking care of my cars maintenance.. i don't like waiting in the casa for service and instead of me paying the casa, i bought myself some tools.. i find CASA work without quality and expensive.. a simple "basahan" is still charged to the customer when i can use my worn out underwear to wipe the oil..

i hope to get some guides where to find spares as i usually stock some for a year supply.

are there shops catering for mazda? like for goodgear and fronte for korean cars and mitsu prime for mitsubishi?

    thank you again..

PS. i might need that plate relocator.. hehehe

On the bonnet, any signs of body repair? Ask for accident history. If it indeed is untouched, reapplication of PU adhesive is very DIYable. In cases of extensive shop time, the hood is usually removed out of the way.
Vibrations. That has clocked just a fraction relative to my '14. I haven't had any engine mount, suspension, nor NVH issues yet.
Has the car been sitting unused for long? If so, the 'growl' you referred, if not the accelerated warm up, could be a stuck belt tensioner. It may go away w/ normal use. Check if the hydraulic belt tensioner damper(looks like a thumb-long fat shock absorber) isn't showing signs of weeping.
Infotainment is updateable DIY or via dealership. Ask Mazda for navi USB if it doesn't have 1 yet. Best to install the factory AA/CP. It's an add on. There aren't any critical MzdConnect infotainment controls....the car will run w/ a busted 1. The wrench icon service interval reminder light can be turned off via the screen.
Check the batt health, swap if it's dying, & grab a CTEK CT5. It'll pay for itself.
The Skyactivs are solid cars. Been around long enough to prove their reliability. Very DIYable. I self-maintain & tinker. They're global platform vehicles & share lotsa common parts w/ other models, from the 2DJ to the CX5, even the 9. Aftermarket parts & upgrades aplenty....sourceable locally or overseas. Great community support, too.
M-specialists? I wouldn't know any in your neckodawoods. Perhaps others can chime in.
    Good luck & happy Mown3rship, sir![emoji4]

Owner is located here in the south.. Las pinas.. and looks like a mazda fan.. he owns a cx-9, 3 hb and a newly purchased cx-30 all in red color!

Already have a ctek charger... used for my garage queens... no signs of body repair.. im just curious why the adhesive gave way..

The growl im saying is like a growl from a big engine.. maybe im used to gas engines less than 2.0 hehe

It seems the growl is from that accelerated warm up as the car is not that frequently used.. he has 3 cars eh..

Anyway, can you say its already a bargain for the price and the given condition?

Body work is still prisitne with a few scratch.. but relatively shiny and i think no detailing done yet

Kung taga south yan at marami ibang kotse, most likely maalaga yan sa kotse. Common sa mga taga south (Paranaque, Las Pinas, Alabang) with more than 3 cars within a family to adjust to coding and use by parents and the kids.

Common sa new direct-injected gas engines that rpms rise to 1500 during start and then it goes down to usual idle rpm speed of 700-800 when optimal engine temperature has been reached.

Oh, it's not uncommon for 1st time Skyactiv owners to look in the same direction for their next cars. They're addicting.[emoji4]
If that's the growl you mean...yes, Skyactivs do that & it's even subdued. The bolt-on RacingBeat does unleash more, if you want.[emoji4]
The price against the odometer & condition described? That sounds like a good find. I reckon it's likely close to new, aesthetically & drive-wise. Bigger bargains won't necessarily mean a better deal...... might net you 1 that won't give you the same feel of worth.[emoji4]

Yup, Sikaflex & the like. Bostik & Pioneer have their equivalent, too. Specify PU.
