Thanks to a dear Tsikoteer, CVT, who recommended that I take the Taal Hiking Tour through Balai Isabel.

Is this the best route going there? I used google maps and other routes take 2 hr 30 mins. This is coming from BGC and it only takes 1 hr 29 mins.

I don't understand where "R3" is. It looks like we will exit Calamba then STAR tollway?

    START: Serendra

Head south on Market Market Loading/Unloading Bay toward McKinley Pkwy
    41 m

    Turn right onto McKinley Pkwy
    180 m

    Turn left onto 26th St
    170 m

Turn right to merge onto Carlos P. Garcia Ave/C-5
    Partial toll road
    6.3 km

    Merge onto R-3
    Partial toll road
    46.7 km

    Continue onto Calabarzon Expy/STAR Tollway
    Toll road
    4.0 km

Take the exit toward Tanauan City/Laurel/Talisay/Tagaytay
    Toll road
    260 m

Turn right onto Talisay - Tanauan Rd
Pass by Zoey Store (on the right in 9.7 km)
    14.7 km

    Turn left
    Partial restricted usage road
    13 m

END: Club Balai Isabel, Talisay, 4220 Batangas, Philippines

Yes po altho may daan dn jan sa Sto Tomas, wagka kumanan dun, the next exit ka Tanauan may another tollgate. Kung makikita mo yung Shell sa kaliwa then after nun ay yung Tanauan City Hall then youre on the right path.

May mas madali (gentle elevation change, except for the final push, and malilim) pero off-limits sa tourists ngayon. There is a third (pinaka-mahirap at pinaka-mainit).

I experienced that hike around 5 years ago. Bring a wide brimmed hat, water and a small towel. Wear booties since the sand on the way up was really loose (at the time). The hike up took more than an hour (I think) & there are steam vents along the way. When you reach the peak, it’s so surreal cause you will see the crater lake framed by Taal lake. We spent a bit of time up there drinking beer before trekking down. The hike down was a lot faster. If you ask me, I would never do it again. Too hot, dusty, tiring... watch your boss. Baka may balak magpakamatay. Btw, Taal erupted a week later.

Cathy, take the Tanauan exit of STAR.

Balai Isabel is just 15minutes away from there....

Face mask (it's a volcano) and mosquito/insect repellant and sun block..... Hat/towel to cover your delicate face/skin and loose long sleeve clothing... Hiking shoes... Water....

On the way back, take the Ligaya drive to Tagaytay....

Yes bro, that's in the news recently.

However the last time we were there, the toll at the Tanauan exit is still manual payment....
