We're planning to go to Baler. What is the fastest route getting there and how long will be the travel time? Yung road condition ba cemented and asphalt na yung mga routes getting to Baler kasi sedan balak namin dalin. TIA

+1 on the pmtabangan route. if your driving a sedan, careful on the damn dam.

road is generally okay but expect a few rough roads.

i recommend the pantabangan route. mostly well paved roads. the only hassles are the approaches to the various bridges which last year were unpaved. kaya ng sedan, just watch out for those rocks so choose your path well if your car is heavily loaded.

dun sa mga "damn dam" na sabi ni sirkosero, ONE lane dun. bubusina ka muna or pag may nakita kang kasalubong tabi ka muna dun sa stretch na kasya ang 2 vehicles and let the one who is first to enter the 1 lane stretch pass.

long but fast: nlex-sctex-exit sctex at tarlac city-turn right to la paz and zaragoza. there is a by-pass road after zaragoza that by-passes cabanatuan city (grabe traffic last year in cabanatuan due to a bridge under construction). sa may carmen na yata if i remember right. may signs naman so watch out for it after zaragoza. turn left ka dun and turn left at felipe vergara hiway. turn left again at pan philippine hiway then turn right at the Y intersection that is already the hiway going to pantabangan and straight all the way to baler.

short but plenty of traffic: exit nlex at sta rita and follow the pan philippine hiway all the way to cabanatuan. sus grabe traffic dyan. sa san ildefonso lang ako nagpunta inabot ako 2-1/2 hours. in 2-1/2 hours via the la paz route you can be in cabanatuan already.

Thanks sir yebo, Nakita ko yung sinasabi mo bypass road sa google map, the Carmen-Cabanatuan road. Yung 2-1/2 hours ba is from NLEX Balintawak to Cabanatuan?

If your in baler coming from south pwede tuloy nyo na rin papuntang dinadiawan. White sand beach resort with lots of hotels narin. 60kms lang sya from baler cement road.

    the town of Maria Aurora.

Thanks for the inputs guys. That's good to hear.

I usually take my pickup for long trips. Planning to leave Pampanga at 5-530am for this.

    Ur welcome, sir vinj.

I agree with what sir mokong suggested.

Google mo sir Dinadiawan Agri Beach Resort. Doon kami nagpunta three years ago. Around 60 kilometers nga siya
from Baler. Add another 60 (more or less) eh bayan na ng Casiguran, where magaganda din ang beach.

    Safe motoring sir!

Good inputs. Im staying in Baler but i can do probably do a day trip to those beaches.

Good to hear the roads are all nice. My former boss went to Casiguran some years back and all he did was complain about the trip back then. haha.

    Jetski to Benham Rise

Our former kasambahay decades back who is from Casiguran tells us na kapag umuuwi sila doon , sumasakay na lang sila ng ferry from Baler dahil nga sobrang

Last week in Baler, I asked a fellow tourist where they come from, and they said they are from Cagayan, tinanong

Pag trip nyo adventure pauwi. Sa quirino na kayo dumaan pauwi pampanga. Madadanan nyo governors rapid sa maddela quirino. pwede kayo mag kayak dun. Tapos isabela then vizcaya na daan nyo pa uwi.

Go get some fish in the baler market, 250 pero kilo for a white or blue marlin. Yellow fin even cheaper.

Visit dialyns bake shop, sarap braso de Mercedes and bread with buko filling.

I'm more of a San Juan LU fan than Baler, but Baler has a more laid back (i.e. rural) vibe than San Juan because it has less restaurants and people.

If going with family, Costa Pacifica is your best bet although it's really overpriced for what you get. It's just that the other hotels are more geared to the backpacker market than families. Nice pool though in Costa though.

The road to Baler is full of corners in Pantabangan but the quality of the cement is a bit shoddy.

Beach is *meh*, greyer sand than San Juan. Waves are good though and perfect for beginners.

My family is used to such drives thankfully; my youngest still prefers using the child car seat as it has good lumbar support while my elder child knows well enough to take some motion meds and eat light to keep nausea in check.

Right now we usually choose to spend one day going around then one day lounging around which is why getting a good resort or hotel is always a priority even if it costs more. Ten years ago when we were just about starting off, we'd find the cheapest and most fun accommodations then hack it out anywhere. Age

My pickup ride gets rough on poorly cemented roads though (not bouncy... but you get rattled).

Actually with my current set-up (Bilstein shocks and 20" tyres) the ride is not bouncy, it's just rough on poorly finished surfaces. The firmer suspension set-up (and my preference for higher tyre pressures) that makes the ride rough on crummy surfaces but on dirt roads it actually glides through dips and the like.
