Iba nga yan Maam Cathy, it's different to walk on paved road compared to a rocky, dusty and sloping road.

Now I know better. I am NOT the outdoorsy type. First time ko to experience this (enjoyed it in the end though)

You just chose the wrong place & time of year, ma'am. Pretty sure w/o the humidity & heat, you could've easily walked, climbed miles & miles as we did....w/o a drop of sweat.

I experienced that hike around 5 years ago. Bring a wide brimmed hat, water and a small towel. Wear booties since the sand on the way up was really loose (at the time). The hike up took more than an hour (I think) & there are steam vents along the way. When you reach the peak, it’s so surreal cause you will see the crater lake framed by Taal lake. We spent a bit of time up there drinking beer before trekking down. The hike down was a lot faster. If you ask me, I would never do it again. Too hot, dusty, tiring... watch your boss. Baka may balak magpakamatay. Btw, Taal erupted a week later.

That's 6km short of a marathon & more than 10 above the average daily distance of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Wow!!! How bad were the blisters, sir?
