As mentioned by other forumers, Marcos Highway was awful as expected. So many slow trucks leading to long queues, really had to use horsepower to overtake otherwise I’d get stuck in a long train. Uneven cement slabs now mixed with lots of construction sites so it really ruins your flow.

Can’t wait for Kennon to reopen to the public. Might just take Tuba-Asin going home to avoid the trucks.

Perhaps the only consolation is the beautiful sunset on the way up:

There are some roadworks along Tuba-Asin pero few and far between. There are also some linemen putting up fiber cables.

Going up on a weekday means restaurants and points of interest are mostly empty.

Got to visit Mirador which was pretty empty earlier:

    CJH was also maluwag:

Agree. My family regularly went to Baguio since the early 80s. Things started to deteriorate at mid 90s.

But I still enjoy going to Baguio. The long road trip journey and mountain drive are the things I still look forward to.

Is Kennon road open again? I heard it was closed after the recent typhoon last month.

Trip down from Baguio to TPLEX using Tuba-Asin Road at night:

Not recommended for inexperienced drivers to pass here at night. Very few street lights, lots of tight curves that will throw you off a cliff if you overshoot.

But if you enjoy a bit of a challenge, it’s a fun mountain pass to try. Easier during the daytime.

Umakyat kami Baguio this morning.

Buti na lang before the trip the host also messaged us with the correct map link.

I recently went to Baguio via Bus. Travel time from Manila to Baguio is 7hrs and Baguio to Manila is 5hrs.

Polluted (diesel smell everywhere), crowded (Covid den), traffic.

Nung pauwi, hi-way ulit para makapagkape at ung banana bread nila masarap. Plus maganda din ang tanawin.img20220925120227.jpgimg20220925120104.jpg
