November 27th, 2009 05:17 PM #232Got a chance to look at the high-end KIA Soul EX-AT today at SM Megamall and I must say, the styling and design is indeed a cut out of the box compared to previous KIA models I've seen and driven before. Though it initially looked small and cramped on the outside, the interior cabin space was surprisingly quite adequate enough for four medium built individuals. Five passengers however, might make it a bit cramped already, unless he/she is as thin as a Palito. =)
Unfortunately; I saw the P1.3M price tag too and said to myself - even with all the bells and whistles, it is indeed still way over-priced. I mean for that much moolah, might as well get a Subaru Forester 2.0 which already sports the car brands' infamous "Symmetrical All Wheel Drive" feature which makes it drive like a dream =).
But hey... that's just me...

The Soul's price is an unfortunate side-effect of the booming economy of Korea, exchange rates and CBU pricing.
The Caliber, note, was also CBU, and the mark-up for the Caliber trim level that came here (one with the same price tag as the Soul in the US) was 400,000 pesos more than the 1.3m Kia is charging.
Still... HARI seem to be able to get the prices down (partially by bringing in products assembled in India)... though some models have suffered. They stopped selling the Matrix because the factory was moved, and the price would be too steep. The i30 and i20 suffer from huge taxes compared to the i10 (Indian-made) and they're using every trick in the book in terms of option matching to keep the prices of the Accent and Santa Fe low.
Still, it's a shame that the price is so steep... the Soul is quite an interesting product.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Antay lang kayo pag binenta ng CAC yung mga test drive at display units nila... after a year sigurado less 300,000 yan... so you get a 2nd hand Kia Soul EX for a cool 1M...

Wala naman trade-in sa Hyundai eh. Maganda naman reviews ng KIA Soul sa ibang market so should be okay. Price lang ang problema
Probably looks like a Coke sakto. Yes, where did you buy it?
