K&N user ako before sa old cars ko.. Filtration wise di siya okay. HP gain, not noticeable. Nagustohan ko lang sa K&N is you can use it all over again.

Got a 2006 Kia Sorento with a damaged differential casing, axle shaft, and stabilizer arms. May I ask for help on where can I source surplus parts for these? BNew from kia costs almost 70T.

ang daming sorento kanina sa sbma hehehe! dun lang sa petron there were 4 of us parked there when i stopped to get something to drink. 2 whites (1 is mine), 1 brown and 1 silver. then i saw another white sorento at near the old legenda hotel, and i'm sure it's a different one from the one i saw at petron as this was an awd model and the one at petron was 2wd only. then saw a black one at tipo e-way just before the total gas station. oddly all 6 were the old 2009-2012 models.

same here sa cebu, puro temp yung plaka ng mga bagong unit.. mostly 2009-2012 din pero dumadami yung latest model.
was invited last night sa launching ng peugeot cebu branch in mandaue city.. daming sorento naka park..
i hope di nila i trade-in yung unit nila for RCZ model..

I had the same decision set three months ago, and I'd still choose the Sorento over others now (including the Sta Fe, which is priced even higher over the equivalent Sorento variant - and the Sta Fe looks like just a bigger Tucson, you'd have to look carefully to discover it's actually a Sta Fe, hehe). The only other SUV I would choose over it is the Explorer, which is why I agree with you it's the best looking SUV below 2.3M - i.e., best below the Explorer Diesel variant.

I got the LX version, this EX at 1.89M is even a lot more car for the money.... if u compare it with its cousin SF3 u get leather seats , AWD, Dual Panoramic SunRoof...... what u don't get is LED taillights that's standard on the SF3...... but you could have it fm. other Korean car parts importer w/o breaking the bank!

Sir, what i was trying to say po sana is diba sa SF its more "sulit" to get thru importers such as Hancars, etc. because the TOTL casa is offering is a VERY much stripped down version of the imported one. Ganun din ba yung sa Kia Sorento? Of course i know na may mga differences but kung unnecessary naman like the Seat heaters, Mirror heaters eh oks lang i would skip them. if you happened to know those i would be glad to know those things po. Thanks.

1.) And how was the ride compared to Land Cruiser and monty? these are my only rides na hindi masyado "matagtag" kaya i would like to know how it compares.

2.) Power, Im sorry if i sound oblivious but i do not easily believe kasi sa Paper specs. so how powerful/fast is the Sorento? sa mga sedans ngayon saan pinakamalapit yung power niya?

3.) Interior quality, Space, Special Features.

4.) Maneuverability, turning radius, etc.

5.) airbags?

6.) errrrr NO contest. The best looking Korean SUV ever.

1. My brother has a Montero, my Sorento rides a lot better. A friend has a Sta Fe, the Sorento is firmer, but the little comfort given up is more than made up for by the increased confidence in turning (less/no body roll).

2. Power - just back read in another thread where Niky (respected car reviewer) recommended it to a Tsikoter looking for the best thrill ride under P2million.

3. Interiors - subjective (I like the genuine leather armrests on door interiors and center panel and faux wood grain on dashboard and doors), a lot roomier and more modern than the Montero or Fortuner. Of course, the Sta Fe has better interiors.

4. Maneuverability - again, due to the firmer suspension, less/no body roll gives better handling on tight turns

5. Airbags - 2 (driver and front passenger)

imported DLX (Php2.2M) models differ with local TOTL EX (Php1.89M) models in terms of the ff...
[HID vs halogens, 19" vs. 18", Powered seats vs. Manual, Premium 5.1 Sound system vs. 4.0, LED Taillights vs. normal, AutoPWR UP Windows for driver vs. None, Auto PWR UP/DN for Front Passenger seat vs. None, Has Safety LDWS/ BlindSpot W.S/ HIll Assist Control/ Downhill Brake Ctrl vs. none ]

1). I don't have a LC100/200 but have the Toyota Hilux Surf (JDM model) and I would say its the same in the aspect of hindi masyado "matagtag"....
I also don't have a MONTY but a fellow Sorento owner who's old ride incl. Monty based Pick-up, he likes Sorento's much better.
2). Power : its the most Powerful/Torquey 4cylinder Turbo charged Diesel engine in the Philippine market today....it beats the Toyota 3.0li D4D and Mitsu's 2.5 DiD VGT in spades..... its not perfect but its pretty damn good! with modern turbo diesel engines, comparing it with Sedan is really a moot point...but i'll do point out notable things....
- you may not WIN in 0-100kph acceleration (stop light races) on flat road with 1.8/2.0li Civics or even 2.0li Corolla's....
- you have to understand modern turbo diesel's main advantage is in MIDRANGE power, like when u suddenly want to accelerate fm. cruising speed of 100/120kph you would still get that "push at the back of your seat" feeling. Even Going Uphill, Even with Full Load of Passengers.....do that in Civic/Rolla and good luck to you esp. when ur' trying to overtake provincial buses doing 110kph.

3). Interior Quality this is one area where Korean SUV's shine lately. they've really Up the Ante on interior quality....IMHO since its a World Car (share basic/chassis / interior/ engine/tranny) with Europe and North America....its better than SouthEast Asia marketed rivals fm. "T" and "M" company....
Space : for 1st. and 2nd. Row is very good.... i'm around 5'10" and see no problem for 6'2" guys fitting confortably.....3rd.row's just for kids or smaller adults though... Special Features: yeah its got a lot.... EX version has Dual Panoramic sunroof (don't think u'd find that in the T & M competitor)...available option LED taillights....can only see those in Audi's....

4) Manueverability is pretty good, on the narrow pathways leading to my house its easy to squeeze in those.... Turning Radius? one of the tightest I think....i'd dare say almost as good as my former ride - Honda Fit/Jazz...and that' says a lot coz its a city car...and the Sorento is a mid-size SUV....

5) LX has 2; EX (LX + side curtain) ; DLX (KDM import) (EX + +).....

anyway DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT.... go find time and visit a KIA Dealership and Test Drive and See for Yourself!
