Ang sama pa rin ng FC ng Rio owners ah. Kahit pa sabihing break-in period, hindi naman sobrang laki ng iniimprove ng FC after 10000 KM. Even if you guys steadily get 8 km/L in the city, that's still bad for a 1.4L subcompact (na hindi naman kalakasan ang makina). Hopefully hindi talaga ganyan yung Rio and may fix para diyan. Sayang naman eh.

August 22nd, 2012 01:15 PM #1084so far am monitoring this forum to see if there is a fuel efficiency improvement, the car is nice feature set and all but if the FC is even worse then my 98 RAV4 4x4 that's wouldn't be good at all. I did a re-test for 1 month of my RAV's FC, it's currently hitting 6.7 to 8KM/L city driving.

Pero diba the 1,4L in the Rio is the same Gamma engine found in the Accent 1.4? Wonder why the Accent is faring better? Maybe its the tranny kasi 4 speed lang? While competitors are sporting 5 and 6 speeds...
How about the manual any news on its FC? Yun nga eh ang ganda talaga specs ng Rio sobrang loaded talaga ng specs and nice pricing pero the FC is a killer.

Probably the transmission. 4AT plus small engine... not a good combo.
I wonder, though... is the Rio heavier than the Accent? Certainly feels better insulated.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

August 22nd, 2012 10:50 PM #1088To all kia Rio Hatchback owners. Or magask to any Kia engineers?

What's weird for me is that the Accent 1.4 GL AT also sports the same drivetrain but many users are reporting FC in the 9 km/L range for city driving.
Spec sheets report that the Rio weighs about as much as the Accent, and when I drove the Rio, it certainly didn't feel like the engine was having a hard time pulling the body.
Yet here we are faced with the enigma of the Rio's dismal FC...

Tas sabi ng SA ko, try daw petron kasi matipid daw, alam ko malabo ito but i gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Sa rio kasi if travelling 80 kms * same rpm, pagbitaw ng gas pedal, magstay talaga yun rpm dun.

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
