wag na tayo umasa sa Manila stop and go traffic. kada apak sa gas palo sa 20L/100Km yung instant FC Although in those few clear stretch of road where the engine is unleashed, it gets comfy below 10L/100km

One question though, anybody know if it's ok to put a hitch mount on the Sportage? There are some local supplies who can bolt a hitch mount and I'm looking at this as an option to load my bike. I'm not sure if that will cause unnecessary stress on the body. Previously I used a Thule roof rack on my Everest, but the load bars are now too narrow for the Sportage. So either I buy a new set of load bars or opt for hitch mounted bike rack instead.

    Thanks!
the hitch receiver isnt that heavy. i think around 10lbs lang yun. im also thinking of either getting the hitch or the roof rack. mas mahal yung hitch kasi receiver palang nasa 11k na. i found a supplier for the roof rack which will cost less than 10k for two rack mounts na. im thinking it might be more of a hassle to put the bike on the roof than on the hitch

hindi ka ba nahihirapan ilagay yung bike sa roof rack ng everest? and we dont need to include in the registration for topload right?

Brought it up to Pulag once and had to carry back 8 passengers plus complete gear back to Baguio because the other vehicle ( a Fortuner) broke down but those days are done so wanted a more 'civilized' ride.

Anyway, so I won't even touch on the handling and acceleration because obviously way better than an old 2.5 turbo diesel. So am completely loving that already.

It's more on the little details that I also appreciate, like
    - yes the DRL of course. Until more cars come equipped with this will definitely be an eye catcher
    - headlamps that shut down automatically after 15 seconds if you forget to turn off. Immediately turns on as well when you push the unlock button. Nice way to impress a date
    - somehow even at 17 inches the wheels look larger. Almost always the first impression when friends see it
    - rear assist that also provides an icon showing how far is the obstacle and if it's mostly center or to the side. Yes audio cues are good enough, but nice little detail. Nonetheless
    - attention to safety. Nice that even the center passenger gets a over the shoulder seatbelt
    - doors lock automatically when you go to D. Unlock when keys are removed.
    - projector lamps are nice and bright, I feel it's as strong as even my previous Everest on high beams
    - soft leather (?) accent by the doors. Nice place to rest those arms.
    - iPod acces via the head unit. Now I guess I have to buy an iPod ...
    - holistic (in guess that's the word) design. Notice how the windshield tapers off in the center is recreated in the grill and the rear windows?
    - almost flat floor in the back, means a bit more comfort for our center passenger. He gets a headrest as well. Another little safety detail.

    Yes babaw lang kaligayahan ko

That said, couple of things that are not so good
    - I feel there's a lot of blind spots. The A and B pillar feels huge, and the high belt line also means that smaller passengers are quite 'swallowed' up in the car. It's good that the driver side has a height adjustment otherwise short people will really not be able to see anything. Makes for a nice sports car feel I guess, but I feel I have to be a bit more cautious here than even my old Everest. In fact my wife doesn't even feel confident to drive the Sportage at all.
    - not a lot of little storage space, no little nooks here and there to stow an ID, wallet, and other small stuff. I guess on the other hand it really looks clean inside.
the A pillar is the one that's really huge, laki ng blind spot tuloy, anyway nothing like careful driving can fix.

yan din napansin ko kulang ng nooks, so the cupholders double as my cellphone and wallet holders hehe, buti nalang medyo malaki yung glove box

pansin ko rin lumakas hatak, odo still around 1200+km

btw you made a slip up there my friend -'Nice way to impress a date '

-'In fact my wife doesn't even feel confident to drive the Sportage at all.'

    hehe

Miles, mahirap, pero buti na lang medyo matangkad ako Tapos hassle din ngayong nasa condo kami kasi kailangan ko ilabas muna yung sasakyan sa parking bago makarga yung bike.

actually halos break even ako between the two. Thule gamit ko dati - Aerobar+ 2 Pro Ride racks almost 25-30k din abutin. Ngayon tinitingnan ko is Saris Thelma (around 14k ata can carry two bikes). 26lbs lang sya ata. Ok naman ako sa Thule before, looks nice, stable, and easy to load yung Pro Ride. Feel ko mas safe din yung bike pag naka mount sa roof vs. sa likod.

To be sure, pinasama ko na rin sa OR yung topload. Around 100 pesos lang naman.
