- No check engine light
- Petron Fairview only
- BLAZE100 or XCS
- Full tank every week
Hindi ako pabaya dyan sa Sportage. Bantay sarado yan

My friend's Montero (Diesel) had a similar experience with Petron Turbo Diesel. He, however, experience a engine check light. Mitsubishi is pointing their finger to Petron Turbo Diesel, as they have several similar incident suddenly. They replaced the fuel filter and the gas tank due to corrosion. Good thing for my friend that it's still under warranty. The casa turned over the repaired unit with an advise to avoid Petron for the meantime, until they isolate the issue.
I will assume that your Tucson Theta II also use the Petron brand, and it's still okay. Let us know what happened to your Sporty. TIA.
R-eVGT yun Tucson at Santa Fe namin.
Bago ko dalahin for PMS, lahat maayos. Pati nga battery ko maayos pero RIGHT AFRER PMS NAGLOKO NA RIN. Though 2 years na yun battery.

Kanina pala 4 times ginamit yun Sportage. Mas lumala yung hard starting from Saturday night.
What an Imbecile!

Ask them how they replaced the fuel filter. I would look into the following:
1. All fuel hose connections especially from the fuel tank to the fuel filter, and the fuel filter to the engine. Its possible that dirt from the filter was disturbed and went into the fuel lines. Suggest you rev it high so that the dirt gets out of the system. Problem is, it might get stuck in the injectors. If this is the case, have it cleaned. You might need to pull it down if needed.
2. It is likely that you have air in the system. But that shouldn't last for long. Once the pump pushes the fuel towards the engine, the air bubbles will cause temporary stalling or rough idle, but should normalize in a few minutes.
3. Did your mechanic remove the negative battery terminals when checking/ replacing the filter? This should be the practice because you'll never know when those terminals can get accidentally hit. Possible things that can happen: fuel pump fuse busted, fuel pump relay, ECU damage.
Let's hope its just number 1 and 2.
While they're at it, ask that your fuel pressure be checked in two places.
1. At the pump.
2. At the fuel rail (near injectors). Check if it holds fuel pressure even after engine is turned off.
Lastly, check for vacuum leaks in the engine. Sometimes, old hoses related to intake and throttle that keep vacuum in check can trigger these kinds of symptoms. Ensure that all hoses are in place and have no cracks.
Hope this helps.
*Quint: Yes inalis nila yun negative battery terminal.
Thanks sir.
The 2014 Sportage Facelift is already out in Korea
Type ko yung tail lights ha :naughty2:
Sir SG, try mo dalhin sa Kia Pasay. Magaling sila and madaming nagpapagawa dun kahit hindi Kia ung brand.![]()
HTH
Woohoooo!
FINALLY! Nasa bahay na black CRDI Sporty ko! Sarap niya i-drive as in! I'm ecstatic!!!
Meron po ba other forums or online group ng Sportage owners maliban dito? How about sa Facebook or a dedicated website?![]()
hi been lurking and back reading on the forums for a couple days now..just got my first bank approval for a kia sportage..and i plan to trade in my second hand 2004 chevy optra for the downpayment on the 99k CRDi Sportage. and i have a few questions that i was hoping you might be able to help me with..since this is the first time ill be using a diesel or going thru a dealer/trade-in for a car...i run a startup production company that deals with avps/commercials/photo video..i choose the sportage for my requirements of enough space for gear/crew,fuel efficiency and comfort since we are on the road most of the time and because of the promo and ability to trade in.
1st question: (trade-in) has anyone had any experience with trade-in? are they more willing to give out freebies on cases like these? is the 80-100k a lowball estimate?wiil try to push it to 120k...
2nd questionfreebies/ paid modifications) I prefer a super black tint and medium in front for security reasons since i have a lot of gear that we carry for work. if the casa cant provide the free 3m tint to this spec has anyone asked to convert the headlight bulb to something stronger? or any other freebie? fuel/rain guard?
and im in a subdivision with bad roads and i carry a heavy load(crew/gear) from time to time...was thinking of getting strutbars for an improvement??? any experience with this mod? i plan on a lowkey look for the sporty (iwas break-in) and im on a tight budget of around 10k that hopefully can include TINT/Seat cover/Bulbs and /or strutbars
tint- free from dealer or titanium???platinum???(thats what i think i have on my optra and its dark enough)
seatcover - seatmate or sureseats here in the south..seatmate gave me a better deal though and suggested custom embroidery for my covers
bulb - i read osram night breakers/all weather or philips xtreme vision are good and budget friendly
strutbars- still researching...
3rd question: insurance...the 99k promo for the sportage doesnt come with insurance..the dealer is giving me around 32k staggered on an insurance they recommended..but i heard a lot of good things about mafre which they are tied with as well but was told it would cost more than the one they originally offered which was solid gratuity insurance i think..has anyone had experience with solid gratuity insurance? i prefer a hassle free transaction if ever i need to use my insurance..
Thanks.
