hi guys, am shopping around for an SUV and have trimmed my choices to 3: kia sportage, mazda cx7 and subaru forester..

kia sportage was really my 1st pick since I really love the look but I do see some issues that could change my mind, basically:

    - brake noise and brake dust
    - moist headlight & fog lights
    - rattle at driver's side
    - possible high fuel costs

I'm also trying to choose between the DLX gas variant and the Diesel variant (gray market), if I do choose the sportage since I would prefer mine to be AWD with most of the full features included.. the DLX seem to be the safer choice but I'm worried that fuel costs might be too high.. Diesel variant naman medyo worried ako sa mga naririnig ko na maingay at malakas vibration daw lalo pag tumagal, high maintenance costs due to low quality diesel dito sa pinas and longevity at tibay ng makina since di ko alam track record ng kia when it comes to their diesel engines.. especially since sa gray market magagaling I won't have the 5 year warranty that would have eased this concern.. I plan to keep this car ng matagal kaya medyo di ako makapag decide..

I really need your advise on this since medyo stumped ako now.. baka meron kayo mga experiences that you can share.. TIA

    - Wala rin namang rattle for me even after 6 months
    - Basta walang traffic ok ang FC

Mine is gray market diesel unit
-no brake noise (except if the unit is stock for more than 3 days unused) / brake dust no problem because of the OEM design of the 18's Mags
-the 2.0 CRDi engine is the same between Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, so parts will not be a problem.
-5 years warranty..... marami na yata reklamo tungkol sa mga warranty issues, pag mag claim ka na dami hindi cover, plus you have to obey and pay their over charge PMS cost for 5 years.....

Hi Sir, sa akin yung brake noise lang naman po ang issue nya, na sa palagay ko normal dun sa unit pero i observed this past few wks, after using it for 2 mos. Maganda na ang tunog nya. Pero performance wise ok sya, walang problem.
Between 2wd and Awd, parehong pareho lang po sila ng features, except syempre mas malakas lalong humatak ng gas ang AWD.

Plus between CX7, Subaru and Kia Sportage, pinakamatipid na po ang Kia Sportage s FC.

I got my Sportage 2WD EX last June 2011. Moist headlights will disappear in a few months. Even my Honda Civic exhibited this before. Brake dust - just more frequent cleaning of the wheels or maybe change to aftermarket brake pads. Brake noise - none out of the ordinary. I also did not experience rattling sounds in my unit. Last but not least, High cost of gasoline/high FC - it goes with the territory of the SUV/CUV. I guess it is the price one has to pay for driving an SUV or CUV in Metro Manila traffic.

I am happy with my Sportage. No regrets in getting it.

Kahit ano mangyari, 4300K is better than 6000K, kaya nga yun ang standard sir. Pero 6000K looks better talaga.

Kaso you'll lose 20% to 30% of the light na kapag naka 6000K ka.

I'm just planning to buy the new Sportage: Don't know if this is true, but I visited this site for FC comparisons:
Kia Sportage MPG Reports | Fuelly

The new Sportage has an equivalent 8(city) - 10(hway) km per liter.

I haven't test driven yet the new Sportage. Query to the owners of the 2011-12 Sportage: Do you have difficulty in viewing thru the back window? Up to what distance can you see cars behind? Thanks for a prompt reply.

Regarding your inquiry 200kph, so far wala akong problem sa Sportage ko.

    10K discount
    3yr LTO
    3M tint, including full windshield
    matting
    seat covers
    rain guard/sun visor
    back-up camera and monitor
    EWD

    All approved within 30 mins

Is this deal good enough? Or dapat pang humirit?

They suggested ST20 for windows, and BC35 (sabi ko kasi ayaw ko too dark for front kasi might be hard to drive at night) for full windshield. Any other suggestions? Would CS20 be better for windows instead?
    Thanks in advance
Hi sir Dockiks! Planning to buy in March. Magkano inabot ng unit mo? Thank you!

thank you bro.. actually yung AWD na tinutukoy ko is yung 2.4L deluxe so iba features niya.. concern nga is baka mas malakas kumain ng gas etong 2.4L na AWD pa..

thank you for you inputs.. yun na nga have to live with the fuel cost, kaya am actually thinking about the diesel variant, but my uncles are not infavor of diesel engines, they always tell me that I might regret it in the end..
