Sayang nga talaga yung opportunity for other Carens lovers (and potential buyers) like me. Naabutan na ako ng price increase and I'm really thinking twice about having one. But I would like to still thank sir Ace8tan who was still very understanding and accomodating kahit na hindi ako nakapagdecide on time. Still, I m hoping for a nice deal (not necessarily the best deal) which can offset the price increase in the coming days/months. But I am slowly looking at other options (like the Tucson and the Livina). "Dream girl" ko na lang ang "Carens".. hehehehe
Hahahaah, It's kinda your fault na din e.

What was columbia thinking.

I will pay dearly for that carens blunder (just in case, at a cost of 105k).. hehehe.

i'm sure some of the people in columbian aren't in full agreement with the decision to raise prices. maybe it's beyond their control. i'm sure they know where their product stands now against the other brands in the same class.

if indeed it's beyond their control and that korea had a hand in forcing them to raise prices, it's unfortunate and frustrating. i still think they have a good product line up now (picanto, carens, carnival, sportage), but this may be just pushing it a bit. the picanto will have a loyal and growing market for sure but the carens is just breaking new ground locally. kung hindi maiwasan naman, sana hindi ganitong kalaki where you maybe better off with another brand in the same class.

oh well, what took several months to accomplish can quickly be undone overnight...

I'm still hoping that my SA was mistaken... the Carens is a great car and I would want a lot more people to experience what we're experiencing with our rides...

Saw a white one sa central business district and saw an Aqua Blue Carens at SM Baguio yesterday. I took a hard look at it because I could hardly distinguish it from fine Silver.
My uncle who recently bought a Hyundai Santa Fe said I should not buy a Kia kasi daw di maganda ang quality. I said the Santa Fe and the Carens share the same engine technology (VGAT) and in fact, Hyundai's sister company is Kia. Well, based on that observation, Kia still needs to establish itself into the mainstream auto industry even if true believers among us do exists. Marketing via newspaper ads will not be enough. It has to literally be seen on the road.

But by planning to raise (again) prices, I share the opinion of many of your here that it will just drag the brand down just when it is just poised for a take off. Ma ju justify pa siguro pag new Carens Model ang lalabas. Just my 2c!

The recent price increase of KIA cars have certainly made a lot of potential clients looking for other options. For the record, I was a Toyota fan... a convert to Kia after buying my first car, Carens. I have driven three generations of Corollas, hand-me-downs from my dad; 1979 SR, 1990 XL and 1996 XE. My brothers also use Toyota and Honda, pure Japs ang choices eversince. I was the first to break tradition sa family since I believed that Kia was as reliable as the Jap makers were. Of course, the value for money was the clincher as well as the sophisticated CRDi engine with VGT technology. Nakakadismaya ang sobrang increase sa prices and if this continues, we would find it hard to get cheaper parts since konti lang tayo na merong ganitong sasakyan. Kawawa naman tayo.....

Well, that's life ika nga... Pag bumagsak ang marketshare ng Carens, eventually mag-suffer ang service and availability of parts and eyeball members (j/k lang). I just hope it won't happen to Grand Livina

Few minutes ago, SA of KIA Marikina called me up, nag-inquire kasi ako last month ng LX CRDi A/T, sabi ko 1 month lang ako nawala nag-increase na pala yung Carens ng more than 100k kaya iba na lang nakuha ko. Then I asked him kung totoo na may incoming price increase na naman on July/Aug, he confirmed that there is really a price increase again.
