Trooper Engine Oil?

Bros and sis, meron akong nabasang old thread dito about engine oil of 4jg2 engine Trooper. Maganda raw performance ng 5W-30 engine oil para sa 4jg2. But 5W-30 ang recomended sa 4jx1 at 10w-30 sa 4jg2. Ask ko lang comments nyo about using 5W-30 on a 4jg2 engine? Nakalagay kasi owners manual na "Not recommended for sustained high speed driving" ang 5w-30 sa 4jg2. TNX.

The 5w30 is really spec'd for the 4JX1 engine due to the common rail. The 5w30 mentioned is also a full synth oil, a mineral based one can't be used for high speed driving.

For standard diesel engines, you can use 15w40 like delo gold, mobil delvac.

ang ibig nyang sabihin, for sustained high speed driving, dapat 5w30 na fully synthetic oil ang ilalagay sa 4jx1.

hindi ba prone ang trooper na magleak ang oil sa mga seals pag gamit 5w-30 na oil? masyado kasing malabnaw yung oil.

The leaks are possibly caused by old oil seals or gaskets which were removed of built up gunk with the use of a full synth oil. The Petron 5w30 full synth oil should not leak if all seals are still good.

yes, 4JG2. delo gamit ko ngayon, 15W-40. Tried din yung Petron Trekker na 10W-30. Balik ako sa Delo coz cheaper and it's the recommended viscosity for our temps

saan ka bumili bro? mas mura sa Makro and panigurado yung orig dahil sa mga computer codes sa taas ng can..

i bought an extra one sa mga auto supply sa labas nagkulang kasi parang iba yung can and iba rin yung amoy.

gary q. Yes, pwede sya sa metal. Mas maganda nga ang finish. Gamit ka lang ng MS filler rod instead of SS filler rod. Pwede rin sya sa aluminum kaso ung machine ko is for SS & MS only. I think kailangan mo HF na Tig welding machine for aluminum. Sa thicknes, paano ko ba sasagutin, hmmm. Kasi ung tungsten pwede mo palitan ng mas malaki ang diameter. We usually use 3/32, 1/16 or 1/8 depende sa kapal ng idudugtong. Kung sobra kapal ng iweweld, lalagyan ng 2nd pass(babalikan Uli). Kung medyo magulo, explain ko sayo pag may meeting DSlorg uli. Dun sa truper, wla pang fender flare un. Dami pa kulang.
P.S. wla ka tangap PM?

ed: pm wala. try mo to look for the fender flares sa pampanga. ask kimpoy for help. before may nag alok 12k complete flares + step boards. wala akong budget for that. saka na. thanks for the info sa welding. i will visit ur shop kung may papagawa ako. he!he!

guys,

here's a publication of holden motors (australia), which manufactures the jackaroo, aka, isuzu trooper, concerning the engine oil specifications for jackaroo diesel (4jx1 engine). got this from an australian-based forum. i think this specifications is also applicable in our case considering that australia experiences extremes of ambient temperatures. thanks.
