at last!!! I got my 2003 Trooper!!!

After reading this forum, it makes me wonder. Is Trooper a good buy?

Una, medyo matakaw sa fuel.
2nd, may kabig ang Trooper although hindi naman yata lahat.
3rd, mahina ang aircon.

I used to have a Hi-Lander (97) and just upgraded to a Trooper (although di ko pa nakikita kasi inutusan ko lang ang esmi ko na bumili siya dahil sa tax - nasa abroad ako and uwi ko ay sa June pa). Sa mga tatlong nabanggit sa taas, mas maganda pa ang performance ng Hi-Lander.

Medyo dismayado ako!

You only have two choices sa price category. It's either Pajero or Trooper :roll: Now it's up to you pano mo icompare yung dalawa. Pareho namang okay eh, may kanya kanyang downside lang :? Kung may extra cash ka pa, you can get the Patrol :wink:

Sa totoo lang, kahit ganyan ang Trooper ay big fan pa rin ako ng Isuzu. Kahit may extra cash pa ao ay hindi pa rin ako bibili ng Patrol.

Maybe the defects or more appropriate, the downside, is something I have to live with.

BTW, let me take this opportunity that tsikot.com is compose of sensible and meaningful responses from its moderators, audience or supporters. Keep up the good work. I got a lot of "tips" from this site.

eto pa! yung takip ng battery (motolite) sira... 5/6 sira... di cya ma-lock dahil sira ang mga tread ng takip.. punta na lang ako sa battery store at bumili ng 6 na takip... palit ko lahat kasi kulay yellow yung available, e black ang orig... napansin ko yung isang takip, nahulog, pagka-check ko ng iba, 5 ang sira, isa lang ang ayos.. palagay ko yung mga thread nahulog na sa loob... pero ng dinagdagan ko ng distilled water, di naman lumutang... pansin ko rin nakaka-2 akong start pag umaga..dahil kaya dito... obserbahan ko pa... kanina 1 lang ang start ko...

tama si ICB, me too i have only 2 choices between pajero & trooper... so lumamang ang trooper ng 8/10 points sa akin (IMHO ha)... yung 2/10 ng pajero sa akin ay looks (pero ok naman ngayon ang trooper...) at yung side steps ng pajero... the rest trooper na ako...
generally satisfied ako sa trooper... for me this is still a good buy...
kahit may extra cash din ako di rin ako bibili ng patrol...

wiretap_md, anong washer ang tinanggal mo... balak ko rin ipa-align ang trooper, pero di na siguro sa casa... bayad na lang ako sa servitek...

benny010, IceColdBeer, gumagana ba yung engine heater nyo? yung switch sa me baba ng aircon vent sa gitna? kapag pinindot ko kasi walang nangyayari. yung sa patrol ko, kapag pinindot, medyo tumataas ng konti yung rpm.

Ano po ba ang advantage ng Trooper versus Patrol? I know this question will raise some good and bad views. Curiosity kills me when you guys bash on something that has some good points over the other. (No flames please)

ayan, nagalit na si bossing Ungas :mrgreen::twisted:

since i have both, ito comparo ko

Trooper 4x2
- very old design (>12 yrs)
- malambot suspension (4x2 models, haven't ridden/driven a 4x4 trooper)
- higher top speed than patrol
- sound of engine feels like underpowered, but not
- not so cold aircon

:x
- lots of amenities, esp. skyroof edition
- side stepboard placed very low
- with ABS but no airbag

GU Patrol 4x2
- bolder stand, di takaw huli 8) (cops looked the other way when i once overtook on a yellow line)
- suspension harder than trooper
- aircon is superb! 8)
- walang makalikot sa loob

- engine sounds like a truck 8O
- very large wheel well 8O
- with airbag but no ABS

yan palang naisip ko for now

boybi, yung engine heater switch sabi sa casa, wala daw purpose yun... di ba may lamp heater display , automatic na daw kasi yun... kung namatay during start, pwede nang i-ignition... pati nga yung power mode switch (& winter mode sw) wala din daw purpose... tama ba?

Ungas, hehehe, di ka naman siguro galit nyan. :wink: .. in addition sa sinabi ni boybi, mahirap din mag-overtake sa highway at i-park dahil sa laki at haba...
pero ok sya ... konti lang naman ang difference sa power...
w/ big price difference, trooper na ko ... o di pa namin kaya ni ICB ang presyo :lol:...

So you bought the Trooper because of its price? Any other inputs or advantages over the latter?
