October 4th, 2008 09:29 AM #4201*Memphis Raines: Yup, machong macho!
*wildthing: Sir, do you think it's good for the engine if you always run it in high speeds? I wanna do the same too but the engine might give in or breaks easily if I will do that.
*jarhead: That's why we didn't get the Navara since we feel that their technology is still new though it looks so good especially the front. Just imagine it's the first that introduced a 6 speed transmission in a truck, based on what I know of, and it made me think how will it perform in the long run. Look at what happened when they introduced the trooper with common rail engine, a lot of owners experienced problems with it. As for Dmax, it's our first time to own an Isuzu vehicle but based from our neighbor and from our friends who own a Dmax, they said that it's a great truck.

Sabi ko na nga ba naka lurk mode ka dyan eh
Speaking of PMS, my last one I had my clutch checked na talaga because like the complaints nung mga Gen 1 owners (2006 & above) may sound na "tagatak" na minsan malakas, minsan wala.
The local Isuzu here sa amin was able to point it to the release bearing which was my suspicion all along. This sound started way back at my 15k reading. At first ok lang but recently mas madalas na. So now I'm having it warrantied sa Isuzu Cebu/Ayala branch.
About the Navara. If you guys can recall I was able to post here about my driving the 6 speed manual which we I drove half-way to Bacolod City. Potek ang tulin talaga!
I just found the narrow powerband a bit annoying when you go city driving since I had to shift more often between gears so the 6 speed would go best with an auto tranny if you dwell in the city often but if you go SLEX or NLEX style often, you got a real banger in the Navara.

Actually the navara's 6 speed transmission is not really new since it has been widely used as early as 2005 in countries like Australia, England and South Africa wherein owners there use their pick-up trucks in the most harshest conditions both on and off road. It is a proven transmission no doubt as shown here by the palik off-road racing team:
The D-max (known also as the Holden Rodeo) in Australia is one of the its closest rivals in terms of build quality.

Haven't tried maxing out the Navara, wala pa kasing chance mag SCTEX.
But I have gone over 160 in my Dmax. Medyo nakakatakot lang, madulas kasi yung stock Bridgestones.
Yup, turbocharged and intercooled, same as most pickups. Sabi hindi pa raw VGT but I'm not sure. Meron na bang VGT na pickup sa Pinas?
Re: Navara my thoughts exactly, the high horsepower coming from a small displacement engine does point to accelerated wear. Bigger engines will tend to be more durable coz it's easier for them to put out the power. Best example nito yung Silverado ng uncle ko, 15 years na, 300TKm , still drives like a dream.I think they should've put the 3.0L or 3.2L engine in the Navara. Oh well. Time will tell if the small displacement will significantly affect its durability. Sa Dmax no worries, hehe

pwede ipatune ko ang ECU sa casa nyo at paglaruan natin for more performance with Tunit?

Yes bai we printed this one.
Its not air brushed. We printed that on automotive sticker which is the same as the ones you see on delivery vans.
Bagay to sa new fiberglass cargo lid ng D-max mo, maybe a Pitbull image perhaps?
