I have to agree about safety. I wish they added airbags, specially since the steering wheel and the passenger side dashboard seemed to be designed with airbag panels in them. But as always, the number one safety feature in your car is the driver. And while an airbag system is a good feature that is better to have than to have not, it is not a 100%guarantee of safety.
But as to refinement, I'm not too particular about that aspect. It's true, it hasn't been updated. this new one has almost exactly the same setup inside to my 2010 xwind before and back then, that interior was already very dated. :p As to the workmanship, I don't think it's a poorly made vehicle, its very sturdy. And even it's infamous loud engine noise is not such a bad thing when you consider the benefits of having timing gears: less parts that need replacing. ;) It all boils down to what you need in a vehicle, really. For me it's a low maintenance, efficient and reliable platform that comes first. At most, I will only be sitting in it a couple of hours a day, I don't have to live in it. So even the "90's" interior is enough for me.
And while its 1M pricetag may at first seem to be high compared to others, in my experience, it more than pays itself back in the long run due to the fact that this will require lesser maintenance and it has cheap parts already available in the market. Had an innova before, did not have a good experience with all the trouble i had with it so, that was never a realistic choice for us to consider anymore. The MUX is also a very good car, we like it very much. However, just like the 87hp argument with the xwind, everyone seems to question why we're getting an underpowered 130+hp vehicle when we can get a 200hp one. :p lol, a lot of people never seem to be satisfied.
Suffice it to say, that beyond the specs you see on paper, it is ultimately how satisfied you are with your car choices that will matter. Everyone has different priorities and preferences and because of that, there will never be a single best choice to buy out there. The 2015 Sportivo MT and 2015 MUX AT are ours, and we are very happy with them. Peace!
