I'm sure you can find a good buy with your budget, stick to your plan - xuv or sportivo.

I just would like to give my unsolicited advice on your 50k repair budget. whether or not the unit you'll buy will look perfectly well, have the under chassis parts (pang-ilalim) like nuts, bushings, ball joints, etc. checked at the casa, all of them. if there's a part that is starting to be broken or already loose, change it. if it comes with a pair, say left and right or up and down, change the other as well.

i did this to my previous hi-lander slx which was 8 years old when i bought it, i spent 30k including minor body repair, i was worry-free for almost two years.

As i have said, ipagawa minsanan yun pang ilalalim, lahat. I'm not saying that you dont have the parts above the chassis checked. pero madali na lang kasi makita diprensiya sa ibabaw, and most often than not we can "DIY" those non-mechanical parts. sa pang ilalim kasi, even if you understand the engine and parts, you would still need precision tools, sometimes electronic tools, and the appropriate workshop.

Sa ganun paraan, masasabi mong kilalang kilala mo na ang isuzu truck mo. kunting langitngit alam mo na may diprensiya at hindi yun "dati nang ganyan nuon nabili ko'. And from there on, keep it maintained regularly. "DIY" if you can, if not, bring it to a good shop.

now before you go on a trip (but this is also ideal to do every morning), check the BLOWBAG, it is an acronym for Brake Lights Oil Water Battery Air Gas.

Try using 2T oil with your diesel. There's a thread here discussing the use of 2T oil as diesel additive. Search mo na lang. I myself am using it in my 2012 sportivo and so far I'm happy with the effect. Less smoke and mas pino ang andar. You can find in the thread the proper diesel-2T ratio but for me, I just put 1 small bottleful every full tank.

you can try adding some engine oil additive/engine oil treatment...like STP smoke treatment, I once used WHIZ engine oil additive which is quite resolve the smoking and vibration issue of our Pregio (btw, I used two cans of it though it only prescribed to used only one can for moderate mileage engine) it is noticeable that the thick fog of white smoke is gone during start-up in the morning and everytime I rev it hard it only blew a thin traces of smoke. Thanks to that additive.
