    Hi Cyrus,
I recently sold my 98 local trooper mt (with 95k on the odo) at Php550k (I think I got a good deal). As for the 99 trooper, I guess its fair at 600k but it wouldnt hurt to ask the seller to lower it a bit.

If it has the 4jg2 engine, Its one of the most bombproof engines around. Check for tranny leaks, crankase leaks, etc (can be easily repaired).

Fuel economy - 6-7km/l city driving; 9-10km/l highway

IMO, its a very very good vehicle. If given a chance to buy another one as an extra vehicle I'd definitely grab it!

at 90K km you should be ready to change the timing belt, water pump, oil seals, tensioner.

    Cyrus,

Local 99 Trooper M/T uses timing gear. No need to worry about changing it. Its full proof. You might need to check the main oil seal. Beware of facelifted models, new face na dapat. headlight wipers should rest horizontally.

Invite ka na namin sa samahang IMG.

    Djerms EB na to!

Isuzu vehicles use timing gear mas mauna pa mabulok ang buong sasakyan bago to masira!! One of the strengths of the isuzu brand. San mo bibilhhin yung unit mo bro sa car exchange or a friend? anyways ayos yan isa rin yang trooper sa basag ko na pangarap. Ganda nyan!!

    Cyrus,
The trooper youre looking at still has fabric seats. The leather covers started in the 01 up models na yata which has the 4jx1 engine (timing belt).

Yup the 99 model is gear driven...very very durable IMHO.

    Post ka pics.

    Cyrus,

Have some more tips for 99 models.

    1) Four wheel drive is button activated (Beside the hazard)
    2) Two shifters at the center console. The right shifter should be only 4hi and 4lo (up down)
    3) Rear aircon is at the center above the rear seat driver side.
    4) Open the hood. there should be a "push botton" above the headlight driver side. This is for the factory alarm.

Goodhunting bro. Stop production na ang mga troopers and I believe that a 99 model is a good choice. Not as fast as the later models but the engine is strong and reliable. Another nice thing is its 4wd unlike the 01onwards model. What color is your target?
