    mga sir..pa help naman. napapagod nko sa pgpapaayos ng trooper ko na '01 LS model with 4jx1 engine commercial.
    ang laki2 na ng nagastos namin but still hnd pa rin naayos..hingiin ko po sana advce nyo if mg change engine nlng
    4jg2 na surplus. ok ba ang 4jg2 na engine or baka mka encounter nanaman ng mga problems later on or shud i gave up
    my trooper and sell it kht defective at bili nlng ng iba. pls help po. problema tlga itong trooper ko.

    Kapag nagchange engine ka, for keeps na sasakyan mo, kasi babaratin ka kapag binenta mo yan.

    So do the math, magkano mo maibebenta at magkano ilalabas mo pera sa change engine at yung assurance rin na wala sakit ng ulo after the change engine.

    e kahit naman ibenta nya ng ganyan babaratin pa din, yun e kung may bibili. notorious talaga yang engine ng 01 trooper. palitan mo na engine para magamit mo. di mo na din talaga mabebenta yan unless hindi nag-research yung bibili.

    ask ko lng if ok ba ang 4jg2 na engine?
    hnd ba problematic ktulad ng 4jx1?
    tsaka is it possible na pwd e change ng 4jg2 ung 4jx1? is there any issues ba sa conversion?

    need ur advice mga boss.

    I have a 4JG2 1997 model trooper and I had it since brand-new, wala naman ako problem sa engine, it has been running about 160K, never opened the transmission also. HTH

    i see.. how about its turbo po? hnd nyo pa ba na change eversince? or any minor/major defects po na pinaayos nyo?

    marami na akong nakita na nagpalit ng 4jx1 to 4jg2 and ang dinig ko nasa 100-120k ang gastos...meron din po kami 4jx1 pero properly maintained ang engine at almost 180k km...repairs done rpcv,orps,water pump,injector sleeve..well kung bumigay man ang 4jx1 na ito i will also consider the the 4jg2..HTH

    We have the 2002 Skyroof Edition with 4JX1 engine at 75k odo reading. Never had repair with the usual injector problem. Now on it's 11th year, my family wants to sell it. Signs of old age starting to show like the obvious body noise and vibrations. But the ride and engine power is almost the same, even the aircon works fine and was serviced only twice. I'm having second thoughts of selling it because resale value is now almost the same with surplus units (400k-550k), medyo nasayangan ako and the brand new price of other SUV's in the same category is now around 2.7M.

    Kung vibrations ang problema, you may change the transmission mounts. Engine mounts are second.
    Kung suspension noise, change shocks and ball joints. Check also suspension bushes.
    Just buy kyb gas a just for cheaper shocks. I use 555 metal suspension parts. Rubber bushes, use jag brand.
    More or less 20,000 to restore a unit. Look look young mag technicians. You need to get under your car. Test drive. Check...

    Ganun nga ang nangyayari pero walang magagawa, kasalanan din ng Isuzu that's why the resale value is so low. Sana nga they do an updated version of the Trooper with the new engine hehe.

    BTT: Give up na sir for me. Too much cost, much better to save yourself the headache and go for the more convenient alternative. My 2 cents.

    Mas lugi po yung bumili ng last model if I'm not mistaken the 2005 model. We got our unit 2002 Skyroof model for 1.575M pesos. When the final and last model came out in 2005, umabot na sa 2,030,000 pesos. Eh ngayon parehos lang resale value nila.

    Medyo sayang talaga especially I'm the kind of owner that has senti attachment to my car. Besides it never gave me problems since day 1. But I'm beginning to feel na "maniningil" na talaga sya anytime soon. So I have to decide as early as now..

    Are you sure sir you wanna sell it for PhP400k? Mas stable pa nga ang Trooper at highway speeds at precise ang steering manners kaysa Toyota Prado 3.0 although the Prado has more elegance in the interior.

    Besides, ang 4JX1-TC engine sir, yan ang pinaka-unang commonrail trubo injection engine pumunta sa Pinas and this was designed way back 1999 at inilabas ng Isuzu year 2000.... 160 hp with 333Nm torque, ang ganda na sana simula noon pa, kaso hindi in-address ng Isuzu ang problem at tuluyang hindi na ini-improved.... Sayang talaga ang Trooper seiroes ng Isuzu kung tutuusin sir....

    *d_mac sir what model of prado you referring too? ang 2006 prado120 ba same engine with the 3.0 fortuner? alam ko kasi yun Prado 150 same with fortuner 3.0 except is 5AT transmission ang prado.

    sayang nga reputation ng trooper...true SUV hindi puwede i compare sa mga fortuner and monterosport.

    kalaban talaga nito before is the Fieldmaster Pajero, Nissan Patrol, Toyota Landcruiser/Prado pero siya ang cheapest.

    Comments like this is what's keeping me from selling it.. Boss dili lang ikaw ang nagsulti ana even some of my friends thought of the same.. Sayang talaga. We have the all new Ford Ranger T6 pickup and heck ang layo sa handling at steering..

    The 4JX1-TC was ahead of its time and was miles ahead from its local rivals ie.. Pajero 4M40, Prado 3.0, and even the Patrol. I can still remember those times when you can "deny" them trying to overtake you.

    first----magbibilib/hahanga sila sayo at sa trooper mo kasi up to now nasa iyo pa ang trooper and still loving it despite the horror stories of others
    second----tutuyain/kukutyain ka dahil nasayo pa ang trooper mo hangang ngayon kahit na maraming horror stories ang iba...

    love the trooper and hopefully maglabas na ng all new trooper...

    Sabi rin nila to keep yourself low profile para di masyado mainit sa mata, especially here in Mindanao. Now I have 2 options: Either start the minor repairs and some replacement parts which might cost me around 20k based on kevin's estimate and just wait for the BIG ONE (injector), or sell it outright for around 500k and buy a brand new "SUV" or crossover below 2M.

    Keep it, kung wala ka naman plan na ibenta, you can replace naman the engine.

    Basta papas maganda pa yung kaha and interior, maintain mo na lang.
