i really dont know kung pano ka nakakatipid eh I already have the data with our Pajero BK, last year lang kami nag-shift sa regular diesel oil, ganun din konsumo.

yun sluggish ang arangkada, that's because the car computer adjusts to your driving habits. kung light foot ka lagi kasi traffic, ganun talaga arangkada. kaya nga dapat kung pede lang i-italian tune up ang crdi pag may opportunity na open road

yan 10W30, semi-synthetic isa pa kalokohan yan sa Banawe. it's just banawe suppliers trying to get a market share of the change oil industry. delikado bumili sa banawe pag oil, either old stock or may halo yan kasi di dumadaan sa quality control ng Pilipinas. unlike sa Shell, sigurado lagi bago ang oil kasi moving ang inventory nila. yan mga purple purple na yan sa zixx, never. natyambahan ako ng isang pekeng zixx or zic ba, may halo.

Banawe are best for parts. but never for liquid consumables unless reputable distro talaga bibilhan mo, as in nasa website ng manufacturer yun store nila.
Same driving habits pero ramdam ko talaga na may nagbago from 10w30 to 15w40.

By the way di ako nagpapaservice sa banawe o casa.

Usapang oil talagang walang mananalo.

agree that W40 dapat oil sa pinas. Heat index natin is 38 degrees now so obviously dapat W40 gamitin especially for summer months.
guilty din ako before. for better fuel consumption, 5w30 gamit ko. now it's 10w40 due to outside temperature.

you can get an obd2 reader and check coolant temps at 40c ambients and 20c ambients.

Bro, i have an obd scanner too but for oils, i follow this chart which is in all car manuals naman. It follows outside temperature. Though i never encountered any major engine trouble in all our cars ever. (Well except my dad's santa fe that needed a top overhaul at 125k kms)
    Here's what i follow:

For info what the SAE codes are for.
    For example: 15W40

15W - oil viscosity at cold start
40 - oil viscosity at 100 degrees celsius (normal running engine temp)

The thinner the oil visco the faster it will be distributed to moving parts inside the engine at cold start to prevent wear and tear. But should be thick enough to coat the moving parts to prevent wear at 100 degrees temp of a running engine. So stick to manufacturers recommended visco.

Tbh, as long as W30-40 ang oil, shouldve no problems kahit mineral or synthetic pa. Kung W20, dun may malaking potential problem.
Kaya almost always u wont have problems with any oil thats available.
Except kung fake. Baka kahit pertua nga, safe pa rin since mukhang rebranded sya[emoji51]

The difference would be, these vehicles are most likely everyday street driven. They use a different grade for that event only. I don't think after that event they'll be driven everyday.

yes, kung ano nakasulat sa manual yun na yun. surprisingly, talagang minsan nakasulat pa talaga brand Shell. pero walang Zic or Purple oil or whatever. eh di shell na lang lagi, ang dali-dali oh. it's a big multinational company that drills and distributes barrels and barrels of oil.

dun na ako sa multinational company. let's not reinvent the wheel. oil is just to lubricate the four stroke or 6 cylinder engine. I dont know how it contributes to better fuel economy considering dami factors to consider. naka FS oil ka nga, may tama naman ang balljoint mo o upod ang isang gulong mo, o busted isang shocks mo

holistic dapat ang approach if one is to discuss fuel economy. not only the oil.

Hahaha!
