Isuzu might have a Fortuner killer on their drawing board if D-Max sales figures is any indication. And if that translates to other markets. But things are looking up even in Australia, second largest 1ton truck market in the world behind Thailand.

Isuzu successfully beat the hilux in thailand.

In Australia, Like the Rverest, Isuzu's target is this

Really curious on the sales breakdown though, TH and AU both get the full model line from base to top with diff body configurations, I think the D-MAX appeals to business owners more than lifestyle consumers...

Which also probably explains why rivals with more car-like feats and "premium" interiors sell more than the PH-spec D-MAX.

With the new D-MAX though I think Isuzu did a better job differentiating higher-end lifestyle models from commercial body styles. Sana pumasa na sa discerning buyers lol

I also find the sizeable blank space in between the tail lamps and above rear plate odd.. Isuzu rarely puts their logo at the centre, mu-7, mu-X, Axiom had chrome strips before... Although this will probably have it too but on the thinner side.

Wow theyre going all out on the size. If the rear glass is that vertical. They have at least 450L(everest) behind the 3rd row.

where is the nearest chevron gas station

Everest is indeed class-leading in cargo space behind third row. But that 450L is SAE, unlike Fortuner's 200L which is VDA measured. Cargo space between the two isn't that far apart in reality.

Going back, that steeply-raked glass is almost mini-van like. Allows some distance between third row passengers and tailgate. Good for safety.

Exterior is about par with most PPVs. Not groundbreaking but good looking in general. Interior is a HUGE improvement from current model.

Even the branding has changed from utilitarian to "exquisite luxury".

Overall looks good enough for 3rd place in the PH market. Maybe second if the pricing is as competitive as the Montero. But my bet is that it's unlikely to be a Fortuner-killer.

IsuzuPh's pricing structure will dictate their success. Toyota's Fortuner has so much bells and whistle compared to the competition now.

After a few days, the looks of the new MUX medyo nakakasawa. Doesn't look like it's one generation newer than the current Fort/Everest.

Pero good upgrade to the current one pa rin solely because of the interior.

Recently been seeing more forts. The black fender trims make it look really appealing
