^Good point.
IMHO flashing to high beam is a preventive measure and a way of informing the oncoming or vehicle in front of you to be aware of your presence. Subjective kasi yan. May mga nag flashers just for the sake na gusto nila humarurot na wala namang available lane. That happened to me in the wee hours of last week at q.ave. A silver Nissan Patrol 3.0L was flashing me starting from Q.ave cirlce hanggang nandun na kami sa ilalim ng q.ave underpass kaya nagtataka ako kung baket ako ang flina flash niya ng multiple times eh free naman yung katabing lane? So after 10 seconds of tailing me with continous flashing eh iniwan ko na siya, he was doing 160kph+ I was doing almost 200kph. Dun ko siya iniwan sa ilalim kasi clear ang visibility ko na walang obstruction or mga taong tumatawid kaya safe to go at speed.
On the other hand may times na justified ang pag flash mo like these scenarios:
1) may mga trust-fund kids sa Guilys na hinihinto lang mga auto nila erpat and ermat sa gitna ng kalsada just to show off their riced out civic or lancers. Problem is that they feel like they own the road at parang walang mga naka hilerang mga sasakyan sa likod nila and worse, Audi Q7 ko ang haharangan nila!
2) may mga mababagal magpatakbo sa high way. Train of thought nila na if you drive below 50kph eh that's considered "safe driving" pero ang alam ko nga sa high way eh minimum 60kph.
3) mga lane hoggers. Those drivers who use two lanes at sa gitnang white grid line sila pumupwesto.
4) those who use their cellphones while driving. Kitang kita mo sila kaya you either honk or high beam them. There were a few times na biglang prepreno sila or pag katabi mo sila or if you're beside them they're not aware na they're starting to swerve.
The using of horns and high beam is a passive safety feature of your vehicle. It's actually a preventive measure. That's the reason why it's there.
well I feel the opposite way. Actually I have beaten 3 Santa Fe already in NLEX.
What I shared in my previous post...
peace
^Yep, although the Santa Fe is a fast car and for any fast car for that matter, it still boils down to how firm the driver's knees are. Come to think of it, I've pwn3d much lighter (and cooler) cars than our own. But this is off-topic.
guys race on the proper place. public roads are not suppose to be our playgrounds.
180+kph on a starex grx crdi a/t at sctex (sbma bound) last year. testing lang kung kaya.
IMO i can call it a race only if you have a deal sa kasabay mo..kasi kung talagang race yan dapat may certain distance kayo di ba? Second pwedeng makipag race sya sa inyo for a short distance lang but ist not enough.. maybe may sakay syang family member nya na ayaw nya madamay sa aksidente..hinay hinay lang po tayo at walang trophy or cash incentive tayong makukuha mauna man tayo but int the end sa traffic mag papang abot pa rin tayo![]()
We don't have a Hyundai, but we do have a family friend who owns a 2000 Starex Club. We were coming back from Baguio then, and there was still no SCTEx at that time. It was filled to brim with passengers inside and all their luggage were strapped on the roof and covered with a canvas. The best it could muster was 140km/h, according to the driver todo apak na daw yun. Of course out of courtesy hindi namin inovertake so sinama namin at 140km/h with the Trooper at a low 2500rpm habang siya nasa bandang redline.![]()
