gls is at 1.158M; the 4x4's 300k more expensive than the gls which i think is too much for a 5-seater. the basic gl a/t is 120k cheaper; m/t is priced really low at 988k. agent says prices are introductory and will probably go up around 30k+ for all models.

i'm intrigued by the new aluminum (lighter) engine and 6 a/t transmission which claims to be more fuel efficient. to current owners, any feedback on engine feel and limited FC for your first few hundred kms?

question: is the 120k extra worth it for the extra features?

we're in the market evaluating between the new one and old (both gas a/t models). we're thinking we can leverage the new model for discounts on the the old but if price difference is around 150k lang, we're hoping FC improvement can get back the cost difference in around 3-4 yrs. i've passed on the tucson once in 2006 (for a jazz) and then again last year (for a rav4); now or never na to get my hands on a really good cuv. check out 2nd hand cars on sale, halos walang tucson talaga; that says a lot about the unit.

    any thoughts? thanks
if im gonna buy. id probably wait for the CRDi version. mas maraming features compare to gas variant, sunroof, engine push start etc. but if cant wait anymore, id say the GLS is more ok than GS

wala kaming lumang tucson para macompare yung 2009 vs 2010 (wala rin naka display na 2009 tucson sa Alabang) pero definitely mas mataba/botchog (at the widest point) yung 2010 kaysa sa Revo namin.

other obsevations - pag naka tabi yung old santa fe sa tucson ix, mukhang mas malaki at dominant yung tucson ix kaysa sa 2009 santa fe (no offense meant to santa fe owners - parang wierd lang feeling na alam mo na high end yung santa fe kay sa sa tucson) that should change when the 2010 santa fe arrives in January... *RAW*

siguro nga dahil mukhang mas "botchog" at bibo yung tucson ix
must be the femine design principles applied to the next gen cars...

i can upload pics by tomorrow kung wala pang nakakaupload ng pics aside from the exterior. nawalan ng battery camera ko eh nung dinodocument ko pa lang yung exterior
    for now, ito muna:

"R" engine? I-google mo but I found this more interesting definition

Hindi lang latest tech ng deisel engine at fuel efficiency ang pinaguusapan

Mas maganda pa din ang CRDi

    1) You get a return on your investment after 60,000 km. - So high mileage users mag CRDi.

    2) Resale value - Mas mataas resale value ng around 200 to 300 thousand kesa gas.

    3) Higher torque - mas masarap ang arangkada at mas madali mag overtake.

    4) Less maintenance - Oil, Air filter, Oil filter lang papalitan. May dagdag pa na spark plugs ang gas.

Matic trans ang sa brother in law ko. Don't know if there is a manual trans version for the crdi. But then, you have good FC rates.

Di ko alam ano ang R stand for but this one is the 3rd generation hyundai crdi diesel engine.

according to the hyundai press release, the 2010 Tucson is longer by 3.3 inches and wider by 1 inch but ground clearance dropped from 195mm of the 2009 model to 170mm.

so di masyado malaki ang size difference ng 2009 at 2010 model pero medyo noticeable yung difference in ground clearance.

I am also longing for the CRDI version of the all new Tucson specially if it comes equipped with the 2.0 diesel R version. At 184 hp and a huge amount of torque, what more can you ask for? Its even more powerful than the 2.2L Sta Fe and with a much lighter weight, I'm quite sure it'll beat the Sta. Fe in acceleration. Say the GLS gas is tagged at Php 1.15M, how much would be the additional cost of owning a CRDI? Your thoughts are most welcome.

actually sir, yung 25mm na diff. kaya noticeable, kasi in mm.
but if you would think about it. it's almost an inch din lang. actually, slightly less
    pa nga.

Expect 7 to 8 km / liter. With gas prices nowadays magiging frequent visitor kayo sa gas station nyan.

With CRDi, expect to pay 150k more but mileage is * 10 km / liter. diesel prices less than 7 pesos compared to gas.

so to put it in percentages, you pay 15% more for the vehicle but you get 25% more mileage at 20% cheaper fuel. CRDi sounds like a good deal to me! Basta lagi nyo lang gagamitin

Sir, how about the cost of maintaining a Diesel over a gasoline? I heard that you have to religiously change your oil every 5,000 kms for a diesel, while, every 10Kkms (fully synthetic oil) for gas, which I am doing for my Civic SiR. For sparkplugs, I use iridiums which I haven't replaced for over a year now. Please enlighten us sir.
