Here's something to look forward to Diesel R fans!
Taken from Top Gear Philippines. Check out this link..http://www.topgear.com.ph/news/hyund...he-2010-tucson

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc., the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country, will bring in diesel-fed variants of the newly-launched Tucson in 2010.

Hyundai marketing officer Raphael Ryan Batuigas said the diesel Tucson is coming in the second or third quarter next year but the company has yet to decide which variants will best fit the local market. Diesel engines of the Tucson, known as the Tucson ix in other markets, include the 1.7-liter and 2-liter R-line.

Batuigas said Hyundai prioritized the gasoline-powered Theta II engine-equipped variants "to show that the new Tucson is just as fuel-efficient as diesel-powered SUVs while being more environment-friendly."

Hyundai launched the 2010 Tucson in the Philippines on December 7.
The new 2010 Tucson runs on Hyundai's Theta II engines, with the 2-liter for 2WD type churning 166hp; and the 2.4-liter delivering 177hp mill for the top-of-the-line 4WD variant. The 2-liter Theta II engine is 24.6 percent more powerful than the Beta engine in the previous-generation Tucson.

"The incorporation of D-CVVT, or the Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing, and VIS in the Theta II engines ups the all-new Tucson's power, acceleration, and fuel economy, while keeping its engine operation environmentally sound with lesser emissions," Hyundai said.
The 2010 Tucson comes with a five-speed manual transmission for the base 2-liter GL variant while the rest of the line-up runs on Hyundai's newly-developed six-speed automatic transmission. The new tranny is lighter by 12 kilograms over the old five-speed automatic it replaces and Hyundai tests showed it can improve fuel economy by 12.2-percent. Manual shifting for a more dynamic driving experience is also possible with the 2010 Hyundai Tucson's Shiftronic feature.

Hyundai also improved the Tucson's cabin which now bears an X-design center fascia with black, high-gloss metallic paint finish to accent controls and switches. Located right in the middle of this unique fascia is the Tucson's audio system with a six-CD changer and multimedia capabilities through a built-in auxiliary input and USB port.

On the safety side, the 2010 Tucson comes with features like an Electronic Stability Program with its Anti-lock Braking System, as well as Downhill Brake Control and Hill-start Assist Control. It also has front and rear disc brakes, six airbags, and an active headrest. The 2010 Tucson scored a five-star rating in Euro New Car Assessment Programme testing for both frontal and side impacts.

The new Tucson is available in Vanilla White, Sleek Silver, Gray Titanium, Phantom Black, and Silky Bronze.

good day guys, kwento ko lang sa inyo... meron nag-release ng tucson gls sa dealership namen kanina, silky bronze ang nakuha nya na unit, pagkakita nya dun sa unit na-inlove sya agad dun sa new tucson, kaya tinanong nya agad ako na "if ever na makursunadahan ko ito kaya mo ba i-release with in the day?" kaya pinag paalam ko agad sa bos ko, good thing is pumayag naman basta in-house ang insurance, the buyer paid on cash(meron sya bitbit na cash), then we proceeded to PDI(pre-delivery inspection) while the documents is being invoiced, mga around 2pm sya nakapag decide, binantayan nya ung unit habang ginagawa ung PDI, then around 5pm nagpirmahan na kame ng documents, he asked me if ok lang daw ba if ihahatid ko sya sa kanila kasi wala sya kasama driver? so i drove his MONTEROSPORT GLS SE and he drove his brand new tucson, when we arrived in his house in valle verde, feedbacks from him is sobrang magaan daw ang steering, rides much better and mas responsive daw ang engine compared sa xtrail 250x and fortuner 2.7cvvt nya considering the fact na 2.0L lang ang engine, ramdam daw talaga ang difference

sir basically it's the side morror. with signal lights. and can be heated so that it won't fog up? tulad ng windows?

    ramdam daw talaga ang difference
nah, baka lang di pa niya kasi na fufull tank yun. at may max capacity na sakay na tao. ^^, (at konting bias kasi bago ^^,)

next week pa ang brute force stress testing ng tucson namin. for this week mga basic muna tulad ng kuha ng stickers/epass/basic emergency goods/pabinyag/check kung may faulty equips/getting to know each other

breakin mo na yan sir tainted

    *white

pagalitan ahente, hahaha, kung mayaman yung buyer ng old tucson, malamang magagalit yun. pero kami ok na kahit na 2009 tucson nakuha namin, wala pa ding plate. kasi comparing sa gas ng 2010, halos mas mahal pa ang GLS. but our priority is CRDi kaya ok lang. next year pa kasi lalabas yung 2010 crdi and definitely mas mahal kaysa sa 2009.

I'm somewhat interested to see a thorough comparison of all the compact 2010 entry-level type X-over SUV models

    Toyota 2010 RAV4
Mitsubishi 2010 RVR (a remake that may replace the outlander?)
    Mazda 2010 CX7
    Honda 2010 CRV
    Hyundai 2010 Tucson (iX)
    Kia 2010 Sportage
    Ford 2010 Escape

mahirap nga lang compare for now kasi wala pa mga hands-on experience mga tao

congrats on your new ride! post ka naman ng pics. hehe

yun din ang napansin ko sa 2010 Tucson. standard kasi yung mudguards sa 2009 model. bili ka nalang ng mudguards pero most likely wala pang nagbebenta kasi very new pa yung model.
