Is it just me or the ix front suspension is really bouncy and dribble noise on constant uneven roads specially when unladen (passenger side)? Is this normal?

Hi Kurt,

I was in the same position as you just a few weeks back when I was considering the Tucson 2.0L Premiun, Montero Sport GTV and a Ford Ranger 3.2L Trekker (not available yet). Ultimately our family ended up getting not one but two Tucson 2.0L Premium after thorough research and test driving all of them to compare. I suggest you go out and schedule test drives, nothing beats your personal experience. One car might fit me while it might not fit someone else.

I don't think I'm in a position to answer some of your questions but I'll try to address what I can.

When I was inquiring about the Tucson I was told about the 100k discount and the 0% interest with free everything promo which we got thru BDO (ended august 31). I heard that the 100k can be stretched to 120k discount depending on your haggling skills. I could refer to you my SA who by the way is the best SA I've ever come across, she jumped a whole lot of hoops for me.

Durability and maintenance? I cannot say anything yet for our Tucson but if I base it on our experience with our Santa Fe which has almost the same engine, cost is higher than usual due to the oil requirements and 5k kms PMS interval. Diesel engines are generally more expensive to maintain and is especially true with CRDI R-evgt engines. Our ~3 years old SF is still running as smooth as day one.

Looks? The tucson is a head-turner. Especially a White Premium one that is well maintained. I've had people pointing at my Tucson just last weekend at a parking lot.

Performance? One word, POWER! That's the best description I can give you. The power-to-weight ration of the tucson is class leading. It has even more horses under the hood than the Montero sport VGT and smaller to boot.

Now HARI, I've also had bad customer service from HARI but if you take good care of your car, I doubt you will need them. If in case you will need them though, don't hold your breath. They left me hanging with my complaint, good thing it has nothing to do with the performance of the car but rather the casa and their service.

I'm not sure what MFR stands for but the stock headlights of the tucson is Halogen. If you have about 50k lying about and want HID, you could take the route I take. Import ix35 headlamps and have it HID retrofitted by GaryQ, it's like night and day I tell you. Definitely worth the cost if you as me.

We have a 2005 Tucson CRDi. Inaadjust po ba valve clearance nito?
I talked to a mechanic pero hindi siya sure e. yung iba daw kasi autolash.

Tama bro, aircon blower nga iyan.

Meron din ganyan yung sa akin. Lalo na kapag 1 bar lang ang fan speed. Nakaka inis minsan kasi ang ingay talaga kahit may sounds.

Okay lang naman euro 2 fuel sa Tucson natin kasi local version naman brother. Yun mga local naka tune for euro 2 fuels. Pero syempre mas okay kung kakargahan mo ng mas malinis. Mas tatagal yun EGR bago ipalinis.

Ganun ba sir, ang sabi kasi sa users manual dapat less than or equal to 50 ppm sulfur content (euro4) ang diesel.
Iniba pla nila para maging compatible sa euro 2, buti nalang kasi ang hirap humanap ng unioil station

Sirs...will be buying a brand new Tucson next week (2.0 Limited - Vanilla White), need your help / advice on a couple of things:

Conduction Stickers

I read somewhere (Page 669 of this thread) there are some units that are almost 1 year old naka-stock sa HARI, how do I know if the unit I'm getting is fairly brand new? My conduction sticker (as relayed by my SA) is MI4XXX. The SA wasn't sure if it was white or yellow colored, when I asked them to tell me when the unit arrived here in the Philippines, she mentioned that HARI does not disclose such information. Is this okay?

Chrome Grill and Door Handles

I am not really a fan of anything with chrome (grills, door handles), for those who have the same issues, what options do we have? Is it really just paint or foil-a-car? My issue with painting over the chrome parts is that for the grill, since this is near the engine, it may not age well because of the heat and other elements, for the door handles, I'm not sure if painting over the handles will cause any issues with the door button (for the keyless entry / push button start), baka ma-disgrasya naman. Final option is to just go to foil-a-car and have these areas wrapped in white, problem is, not sure if they have the exact same color (vanilla white) ng Tucson, parang di ako sure sa flat black (although that is an option).

Brown / Red Clay Leather Seats for 2.0 Limited

I'm still also undecided on the brown/red clay leather seats that come with the Limited Version, was thinking of swapping out my seats for those with Black leather seats (those that came from the Premium Editions). Is this possible? Would the warranty be affected? Lastly, meron ba kayang gustong makipag-palit if ever?

Some 2.0 Limited arrived here second quarter this year. Not sure kung may mga sumunod pa. Basta sure ako yellow na ang conduction sticker ng mga 2.0 Limited.

Chrome trims, yan nalang ang advantage ng Premium over the lower variants tapos aalisin mo pa. Door handles can be body colored, pero IMO leave the radiator grille as is. Or have it painted ng black-chrome. Better than body color.

I am willing to let go of my leather seats. Only problem is I have side airbags, and yours doesn't have. To be honest I like the brown leather seats of the 2.0 Limited, suits my silky bronze better than the all black interior.

Maybe we can make arrangements regarding the front seats because of the side airbags. Just PM me. I assure you my leather seats are in best condition. Most of the time ako lang naman gumagamit ng Tucson ko eh. Tsaka 1 passenger sa front
