napagiisip tuloy ako na isoli n lang sa Bank yung Santa Fe ko kahit na malugi ako ng 500K ... is this a good decision? need your help guys ... thanks.
hello guys!
i got a good deal on chrome covers (stick-on) for my tucson's door handles and side mirrors. i have a noble white tucson and i'm quite skeptical if the chrome accents will look good on a white car.
here's a pic of my ride
should i push through with the purchase?

Hi LeOxe, your Tucs looks great as it is! Besides, the stick-on door handles might fall off and lose their chrome brilliance due to wear and tear (since these will always be on contact as you open and close the doors ( not to mention fading and or scratches due to detergent and wax applications). IMHO, "as is"....... your ride appears immaculately clean as whistle. But........ then again others may have their own perceptions/opinions. Merry Christmas!!
I'd go for the chrome door handles. White and chrome is always a good mix. Looks great on other SUV's like the Fortuner, just to name one.
I prefer body-colored trim.
p.s. Dad put all of the chrome stuff you can see on my sig.
Yo LeOxe,
Personally, I prefer your handles and side mirrors the way they are. I'm not much of a chrome fan except for a few accents for contrast effect. Next to black, I prefer them to be body color. Although, manufacturers tend to use chrome for their high end variants.
However, if these are stick-ons, just go for it. I'm sure it will look good on your ride. And if you grow tired of them later on, you can just remove and revert back to OEM trim.
Hopefully, they're not that expensive. Are these plastic materials with chrome plating or chrome metal inserts talaga? Kung plastic, might wear off easily like Green Hornet stated.
Sabi ni miss beauty chrome accent is a plus factor

Hi guys, long time lurker and first time poster. I just want to share a bit of my experience with the new Tucson.
I have been driving a 4x2 GLS variant for a few days now and overall it was great (although I must admit that the basis for my comparison would be a family-owned XUV Crosswind M/T which I have been driving for 8 years now so the bar is set a pretty bit low.)
The engine revs quite nicely and the tranny is a perfect match for it. Shifts normally happens at 3k rpm but it you have a light foot and good accelerator control (just press the pedal about 1-2cms), you can make it shift at about 2k rpm. Floor the throttle and there is just a slight (about quarter of a second) hesitation before it revs all the way up to the 6k rpm redline before shifting. Needless to say that it sounds great. The one that we have right now is the 2.0 Theta-II variant and it is already quite powerful. I can only imagine what the 2.4 and the CRDi variants can do.
For those of you who know where White Plains Ave. is, I started flooring it right in front of the first Corinthian Gardens Gate and I reached almost 150kph before I lifted and started slowing down as I approached the concrete barriers (NOTE: It was around 2:45am and there were no other vehicles other than what I was driving save for the police car parked right next to the shrine at the EDSA intersection.)
On the other hand, if you care more about fuel economy, you can go to sports mode, shift at about 2k rpm, and once you reach 6th gear, the tranny will allow you to 'cruise' at about 60-70 kph by just using 1.5-2k revs. Am I the only one who finds it a bit ironic that for you to save fuel, you have to use "Sports" mode? Anyway, I reset the FC meter (?) and made two laps of Commonwealth Ave. from Philcoa to Fairview, and I was able to get about 9-10 L/100km, which roughly translates to about 10km/L. Granted, it was 3am so it will not really reflect 'real' Metro Manila driving conditions and I also do know that it is more accurate to use the full tank method so I will do that later and post the results.
Visibility. Needless to say that 3/4 rear view is non-existent and the blind spot area behind the side mirrors is quite huge because of the thickness of the A pillars. The rear-view mirror is quite narrow (and thus a bit lacking) for my tastes, but it can be easily remedied by wide aftermarket mirrors.
Ride/Handling. The suspension is good. Body roll is present but thankfully minimized whereas humps, bumps, and potholes are absorbed nicely. Tires are a bit noisy, though. I haven't really had the chance of driving through the twisty stuff but the steering effort is light and quick although it is a bit vague off center (probably because of the electronic steering assist.) At this point, I also have not yet tried cornering at high speeds so no comment there yet.
Interior Space. It doesn't only look bigger that the old one, it IS bigger by a fair margin and that is not just for show. I'm 6'1" and weigh north of 220 lbs. I adjusted the driver's chair to a comfortable driving position (good thing that the steering column tilts, but sadly, not telescopes) and after the doing the necessary changes, I was still able to sit quite comfortably on the back seat behind the driver's.
Yan muna, inaantok na ako eh. :faint:
Thanks for sharing your review. Good read.
I got "interested" in the new Tucson when I saw it in the metal at a relative's subdivision neighbor's open garage just last Dec. 23. At first, from afar, I thought it was a Vercruz. When I got nearer that's when I read from the badge that it was a Tucson. WOW talaga.Ganda ng white.
Didn't know then that the 2010 was already out. Tagal na pala dinidiscuss dito.
Congrats to all new 2010 Tucson owners. Don't forget to share your impressions. Merry X'mas.
Ignoramus question: Are all the available 2010 Tucson gas variants only? Wala pang available na CRDI? Thanks.
for now gas variants yes. crdi coming soon..
though i wonder how the entry level manual gas model fares as far as FC is concerned.
i hope someone here got the manual gas thing and comment with it..
