Yan ang advantage pag sa HARI ka kumuha ng unit, sigurado ka sa warranty. Kahit medyo sumakit ulo namin sa STAREX namin e inaayos naman nila kahit pabalik-balik ako sa casa nila. Kudos to Hyundai Binan, sila pa pumunta dito sa Quezon para sa last warranty claim namin, kasama pa si Sir Boyet (service manager), Ramer (S.A) and Mang Erick (chief mechanic)

Sana ok na Starex namin kasi mag-lapse na warranty nito this coming August.

ah so 1.7M ba bago starex. ok lang pala, hindi na kami manghihinayang sa starex grx na nabili ng dad ko last Feb. 1.2M+ with almost 60k worth of freebies

1.7M for a van, talo ka na kagad sa investment dyan. i mean it's just a van or people carrier

Care to elaborate Sir oldblue? Di ba mas importante pa nga kasi madalas the whole family ang nakasakay sa van?

for 1.7M price range for a weekend car like vans parang hindi worth

tulad noon my Town and country, Previa, and even the Grandis, kahit gano kaganda, it's still a van. they are priced over 1.5M kaya hayun hindi naging pang-masa

if the new Starex will retain the old GRX price, Hyundai may catapult themselves into the top position in 3 years time. we all know naman that the Starex was their #1 moneymaker.

buyers of getz, tucson and sta. fe were once owners of Starexes or knew somebody who were so satisfied with the Starex.

that's what we did eh hehehe before we decided to get Hyundais. my dad consulted their asst. vp sa company na naka Pajero 3rd gen and Starex. it was their 3rd starex in every 3 years. sobrang sulit daw kaya yun parati ang binili niya

Point taken Sir! I agree, dapat talaga hindi masyado malayo ang price sa current model, kasi mabibigla ang mga consumers!

    Ngek ngek ngek!

Nagbago lang ang katawan (at interior),- tumaas na ang presyo by a few hundred thousand pesos!

Our Starex GRX TCI AT was only P1.058M and look at the tentative price of the lowest variant.....

Babaliin ko ang sinabi ko sa itaas,- ngayon it looks like (for me),- goodbye Starex,- welcome other alternatives.... (And the peso is at its highest level in years....)

i totally agree about how the starex is so sulit.. i mean we bought ours 2nd hand with 17,000kms on it.. in dec 2002.. up until now i havent touched the engine, except for the water pump and timing belts...the only thing that i would like to change is the engine only.. partly for economical reasons.. but the millenium look still apeals to me. i thnk with this look you dnt really think twice bout roughing up the starex.. which i have done. after driving it to mindanao 3 times already.. and taking it to aurora baler.....i thnk with the facelifted version its seems too delicate to take through rough roads..and the latest version? hmm for that price. i think some would not ever drive it off the shoulder of the highways... just my thoughts,,,,,,,,

Because it's not as simple as a cosmetic change. The new Starex underwent a full ground-up model change. Almost everything from the cupholders to the new sliding side windows had to be engineered from scratch.

And engineering does cost money. If they can keep the model alive long enough (like the current Starex) without much price increases then it will become relatively affordable in a few years.

Of course, Standout does claim to offer a warranty. But you have to clarify whether this is a parts and service warranty or just a service warranty.
I agree with you, if that was your believe.

Regarding parts/ services, wala pong free everytime I have my PMS.
For me pag warranty, especially factory deffect, dapat they will honor it.
Standout give me warranty certificate, it state 100kms. or 3 yrs. which ever comes first. maraming exception, but it also state that factory deffect they will replace it.
Kaso laging yun exception ang pinapasok nilang excuse, even if its a factory deffect.
They told me all I must do was follow PMS and I will have trouble free vehicle for 3 yrs.
1st problem, during the 1st 10kms. na bengkong ang brake disc, ayaw honor warranty, sa HARI pinapalitan yan. Say sa GR8, lahat daw na bebengkong pagdating 10kms.( meaning factory deffect) So I replaced it coming from my pocket, inaway ko talaga sila, factory deffect yun dapat palitan nila yun.
i mean, when I buy the unit, I know its gray market, and i don't expect to have warranty either, but they issue warranty certificate, and oblige me to have PMS on their accredited shop (GR8), kaya umaasa ako na may warranty. Siempre it will cost me more kasi accredited shop yun parang casa din, sana sa HYUNDAI na ako nag pa PMS, kung every warranty claim denied.
When time for me to claim warranty, reject nila.
    KAKAINIS, DAY LIGHT robbery yan.
Basta I suggest, have 2nd thought if you intend to buy from STANDOUT>
