Sirs, i need your help! Im thinking of getting eother a kona or mazda 3 1.5 hatchback. Id be using it as my daily car to and from work here jn manila and maybe the occasional trip up north. Which of the 2 would be better? I know that mazda 3 will be releasing a new mazda 3 soon but since the model is heavily discounted, it seems a good choice. Thanks!

Kung diesel yung Kona, by all means get it. Kaya lang, gasoline sya & I am not a fan of Korean gasoline cars. The Mazda 3, on the other hand, is a car IÂ’ve always liked. The interior & ameneties are far better than the Kona. I would guess, being a Mazda, the driving dynamics are too. The Kona has itÂ’s pluses too but overall, itÂ’s the Mazda for me.

Ako I’ll go for Kona if you have spare money. Better, newer engine. Current pa yung model. For me, sub compact SUV is a level higher than compact sedan. I should have waited for Kona before buying a sedan last year.

How large are the discounts? How long do you intend to keep the car? Will the Mazda come with free PMS?

If the discount is not that big, I'd go with the Kona.

If I don't plan to keep the car long, the resale value of Mazda is better.

If there's free 3-year PMS for Mazda, it will be a better choice as Hyundai casas typically have customer-unfriendly policies.

SUV ba yang Kona? 170 mm ground clearance is less than an inch higher than a regular sedan. 215/55R17 tires are also just marginally thicker than a sedan's tires (usually 215/45R17). And unlike most compacts (but like all other subcompacts), this one has a torsion beam rear axle so ride quality isn't special.

Nilagyan lang ng body cladding naging SUV na. [emoji23]

It's an eye-catching car sure, but it's really just a hatchback with cladding on the fenders, just like the CX3. Also has a great engine for the price. Quite sad though that it has a floating HU but it isn't touch screen.

Parang ecosport ang category. Actually mas malapit dimensions niya sa ASX.

Yeah but the Ecosport (200mm), Vitara (185mm), HRV (185mm), and ASX (190mm) all have significantly higher ground clearance and ride height than your typical sedan. So kahit papano may additional utility compared to a hatchback.

Yung crv lang nakapeke ang low height level niya. I was not expecting around 200mm ground clearance. Ang baba kasi tignan foorline. Yung kona nadaan sa style nga kaya mukhabg SUV ala Tucson eh
